Good evening.
My 60yr old mother fell at this location and the manager tried to force her to get up. An elderly employee offered to call the ambulance for her and my mother agreed. She slipped due to an unmarked puddle of water. The manager took my mothers information but seemed unbothered by what had happened.
At the ER, we found out my mother sprained her ankle and injured her knee. When we were filling out discharge paperwork, we were asked for an incident report number, but my mother never received one. The ER gave her painkillers, a splint, and crutches. She has been walking with crutches up until this month (February) and has been in constant pain. She can finally walk without the crutches, but only short distances, and is still in pain.
We reached out to the Galveston Goodwill two weeks ago, and the manager at the time had no clue an incident had occurred and promised to call us when she found the incident report. As we have not yet received a phone call, nor the incident report, I am emailing the company instead.
We would like compensation for her medical bills and her ambulance bill. While we don't fault the employees, the manager at the time of the incident should have done a better job of communicating with us so we could resolve this sooner. When we talked to the store two weeks ago, they did not recognize the description of the manager and had no clue of any incidents.
Desired outcome: We are looking for medical compensation on her hospital bills, as this is an incident that shouldn't have happened in the first place.
