On this past Tuesday, December 28th, I made an appointment for 10 AM at the Discount Tire located at 4195 Eastex Freeway, Beaumont, TX.
I spoke with Assistant Manager T. Salazar to help me decide on a wheel/tire package for my vehicle. As I narrowed down my choice, I asked him did they take trade-ins. He responded by asking one of his co-workers nearby the same question. The co-worker he asked responded by saying, "Not necessarily, no."
I later found that Discount Tires does indeed consider trade-ins. Salazar and the other manager didn't bother to inspect my wheels and tires for consideration. The manner in which this exchange occurred hinted to me that I was being discriminated against.
Desired outcome: Disciplinary action for the two employees that committed this discriminatory act and a store credit towards the purchase of a wheel/tire package.
