I purchased a new Power House pressure washer 9 days ago from Northern Tool. The previous North Star pressure washer that I had was over 10 years old and the pump finally went bad. When the first pressure washer went bad, I was over halfway through redoing my fence (standard 2x4 bread basket design). As I worked through washing the fence, I would drape the hose over the top due to the distance/length of water hose. The brand-new pressure washer was purchased June 17th/18th. On Tuesday, June 22nd, the second outing for the pressure washer, the pressure hose sprung MULTIPLE leaks. My 2x4 fence cross-beams rubbed/scraped the new black hose that came with the washer. It rapidly wore abrasions into the hose and rendered it unusable. I went back and even with the Extended Super Warranty I purchased, they would not replace it since it was not the first time out. I purchased another pressure hose ($40). The first time out using the hose, less than an hour into my cleaning session, the second hose again got numerous tear marks in it. I went back and spoke to multiple people at NT and was told, too bad. It wasn't their fault, and I just needed to get a new one. I told them that the previous hose from the 10+ year old pressure washer (used the exact same way) NEVER had this issue, and the product they are selling is subpar even for homeowner use. They refused to refund/replace it. Today we went back to try and speak with the manager this morning, and they again refused to refund/replace either hose and told her to just buy another one. I find this abhorrent of NT and the very low quality of hose they sell. I am not a contractor, nor do I abuse my tools (no matter where I purchase them). Nowhere on the hose(s) packing, it is said to brace/insulate/wrap/protect the pressure hose from materials when in use. If I had any indication of how fragile their product was, I would not have purchased it or the "extended warrant". If a simple piece of 2x4 wood is abrasive enough to ruin two (new) hoses, then what is going to happen when I power wash my driveway? Again, I am shocked at the low quality of hose being sold at NT and the refusal of help from the NT staff beyond... Buy a new one. A simple, I am sorry this happened, it must be a fluke, and some empathy would have gone a long way to help resolve this issue.
Desired outcome: Even with the NT manager involved, the "resolution" was to purchase a new hose. I will never purchase another tool from NT.
