Big Lots - item on floor for sale

I was in Biglots here is Dickson Tn. on 23rd of August and I saw a outdoor swing for sale in the clearance section so I inquired about it and a lady there said it was 299.00 but the sign near it said 49.99 . So I left and the next day I called first to inqiure again about the same item . I was speaking with James in furniture and he said it was 49.99 and I said I will come now to buy it . I get there have to wait over 25 minutes waiting on James to come talk to me and sell me this swing and finally I ask the lady at register and she gets some other lady working there and she says this swing has been promised to some one else . I was not happy at all ! How can they tell me its for sale and then retract that 25 min later when I show up in person. She said its promised for someone else but there is no Signs on the product saying its SOLD ? And if it is really sold why no sign stateing that or taken off the floor to hold for the promised person ? I am a customer with biglots for a long time but at this point really let down and feel I should just take my money some where else if this is the way you get treated as a customer.
