On 10/12/19 my 6 year old granddaughter and I stayed in room 117. The light in the bathroom area was flashing and sizzling. I told the clerk and she said they didn't have any maintanence people on the weekends. Also, I told her I was going to Walmart to buy a hair dryer as I hadn't brought one with me. She was kind enough to find one in the back for me. I would not let my granddaughter turn on that light when she went to use the bathroom. I didn't know if it was going to spark or explode or catch on fire. We went out for the evening and when we returned I automatically turned on the bathroom light. It blew out and then there was no light in the sink area. Again, I told the night clerk. She reinforced the fact that there was no maintenance people available. It didn't do any good for me to have a blow dryer, there wasn't any electricity in that area anyway. To keep from a motel room being completely dark I usually turn on the bathroom night to sleep. That night we had to sleep with the lamp on that sat on the dresser. The floor lamp didn't work. The refrigerator didn't have any ice cube trays, which didn't matter, the ice around that area was so thick a tray wouldn't have fit in it anyway. Also, we found a rubber band in the refrigerator which tells me it wasn't cleaned out. We were never offered the opportunity to switch rooms, and I know there were plenty available. There will be class reunion coming up next summer and I will not be recommending the Days Inn to out of town people.
