AmTrust Financial Services, Inc. - AMT has been giving us the run around, changing phone numbers, keeps losing our claim, re

We bought our BRAND new Samsung TV at the Big Screen Store in April of 2009. The TV we bought is LN52A550P3FXZA. At the same time we bought a 3-year warranty from AMT Warranty Corporation. If I remember correctly the price was about $300. Our TV stopped working July 2010, this is past the 1 year warranty provided by Samsung. So AMT Warranty is supposed to take care of the repair. For weeks we kept getting the excuse that we have no warranty on file. Finally the Big Screen Store, who have been VERY awesome, called AMT on our behalf and faxed a new a copy of the sales receipt. A Samsung certified repair came over and found that the part that is broken on our TV is NO longer made by Samsung and so, per our Warranty agreement, AMT has to replace the TV with a NEW TV. Soon we got the same excuse from AMT about our warranty not existing. Then we got the excuse that we had no claim on record. The Big Screen Store contacted AMT on our behalf again and this time we got a number for Diane. So we started to call Diane directly. Well AMT switched her phone number so we could no longer call her directly. And now we are getting the SAME excuse of our claim/warranty not being on record despite having faxed our sales receipt 4 or more times, they keep "losing" the receipt and our claim is always disappearing from their records. So here we are now, nearly 4 months without a TV, AMT Warranty changed the number for Diane and is, again, claiming that we do not have coverage with them and/or our claim has never been opened/filed.

AMT Warranty Corp. is starting to look like a scam and if my TV is not replaced in the next few days. Then I will be filing a complaint with the FTC and looking into suing AMT and/or Big Screen Store (I'd hate to do that, but I think I might have to).

I apologize for not getting to this sooner. Aleem was a great help and AMT paid the $375 fee for Samsung to delivery us with a new TV. So to end this complaint, I will say that AMT did finally come through and replaced their TV.

However, I was without a TV for 5 months, FIVE months and I had to get an executive officer from AMT to get involved to get a Warranty to deliver on it's warranty, which as a consumer is entirely out of the normal. With Bestbuy's warranty, I simply bring my electronic device to the store and they fix it. If the Geek Squad can't fix it, then they send it off to get fixed.

Do you have an AMT warranty?

FL-golf, Thank you for this information.

I will give Diane until the end of this week before I contact her supervisor. And, of course, I will update this compliant as things progress. But I have to admit, companies like US Fidelis is coming to mind while dealing with this AMT. Having your name as a warranty company associated, in any way, with a scam warranty company like US Fidelis is bad PR.

On another related note. Samsung has agreed to replace the TV with a slightly bigger/better TV (since the same model is no longer made, the upgraded us to the next model up) all I have to do is pay the $375.00 fee for being out of the factory warranty. Samsung also agreed to allow AMT to pay the fee on our behalf. This will be a great savings to AMT (vs. outright replacing the whole TV at cost), but the offer from Samsung expires and if AMT does not jump on the ball they will be back to paying the cost of a whole TV.

AMT Warranty is now offering water line coverage from the meter to your dwelling. Probably will not sign up due to the track record seen here.
Buyer Beware always applies, be sure to check them out as much as possible.

We purchased a Spendid Wash and Dryer from Camping 3/16/11 & decided to buy the "Camping World Product Protection Plan" at that time. the CWPPP was "administered" by AMT Warrany. BUYER BEWARE! Our $896.99 washer lost power on 6/1/12, the manufacturer warranty expired 3/16/12. After contacting AMT and getting a claim number, they sent out Blue Moon RV Repair. Blue Moon arrived at 2 pm, broke the foot off of the dryer, took about 20 minutes doing paperwork and left the house at around 3:10. I was told AMT authorized the repair and Blue Moon would be back Monday to install the part. 10 minutes after leaving Blue Moon came back and said good news was AMT would pay for the service/diagnostic call of $237.50!, bad news they would not pay to repair the washer, but would "replace" it. Spoke to Natasha at AMT she told me too costly to repair washer but would pay for replacement, cutting us a check for $584.49! and that once check was cut, their obligation was satisfied and warranty was null and void on both the wash and DRYER! Warranties still have 18 months on them and cost total of $279.98. Not happy with AMT Warranty OR Camping World. Still no check and washer is not fixed. Ordered part myself for $339 including shipping. BLue Moon wanted an additional $175 minimum to install MY part even though they were going to be here to replace the broken dryer foot. READ THE FINE PRINT BEFORE YOU BUY!

Totally fradulent email. If you look at it, it appears to be from Samsung and it is NOT. Any company that starts off trying to be something they're not is already looking to rip people off. Secondly, if you call them, they don't even answer with the name of their company which makes me believe that they are a front for various company names. Smells like whoever is running this has experience working as a criminal enterprise. Stay away from them.

Thank you all for saving me $450. AMT sent me a mailing regarding my Samsung washer and Dryer nearing the end of their factory warranty coverage. The mailing looked like it came from Samsung, but since I am VERY cautious about any sort of extended warranty, in very small print it stated that the warranty would be provided by AMT Warranty. They followed up their mailing with a phone call as well. I really wanted to purchase the extended warranty, but before I did I typed AMT Warranty into Google search and one of the pages that came up was this one. The way I see it, if I am buying an extended warranty for 4 years and paying for it up-front, I should not have to deal with begging for a repair or replacement and spending 5 months chasing after this company. I'd rather go without warranty and IF I run into a problem, then I can call a few different repair companies and get bids. From there I can choose who I want to repair the unit and when and I would be getting excellent service since these people have not been prepaid and actually have an incentive to provide good quality service. All these extended warranty companies sound like total scams. I bought one for a couch, and the first time I called them they basically denied me service. Thankfully I charged the warranty on a credit card and simply disputed the charge and got my money back for the extended warranty. Sorry for my rant, but I just want people to know that these companies exist because they make money! Meaning that the odds of your device failing and the repair cost being MORE than the cost of the warranty are VERY slim. And if that is the case, good luck in even getting them to repair your device IF they are still in business by that time. Extended warranty of ANY kind is a complete SCAM, unless its offered by the factory.

I guess I am not alone on this. I am a exercise equipment service technician and have been working on getting work orders for a customer for the last 5 weeks. First I started to correspond with a gal named Natasha Bejarano and then she sent me on to Yasmin Carter and after a week she sent me back to Natasha Bejarano and then from there I was sent to Horace Smaw which I did hear from Horace the next day and now it has been more then a week since I have heard from Horace. I will just have to tell my customer that I cannot do the work until AMT pays at least half of the estimate. R&D Tech Services, South Dakota

We service equipment for different companies, one company is Northern Hydraulics. They sold a generator to a customer that had warranty by AMT, we had there unit repaired and sitting waiting for the check, AMT kept saying the check was in the mail, the customer wanted his machine back so he paid for it, when we received the check we sent the customer back his check, we deposited the check from AMT and it bounced. If you deal with this company Good Luck. Mower Doctor Kings Park, NY

I have had the same problems with AMT. I have been calling them since December 20th about my broken fridge. I think they need to be sued. I am would like if all of us can get together and sue them.

I have the same problem with a network switch I have a warranty on. After all the running around they did (I think they lost the network switch to be truthful) they e-mailed me a settlement agreement and in it stated I was entitled to have the network switch returned to me. which I wanted back and wrote so on the settlement agreement. They no longer have the switch.
