A couple weeks ago I called and made arrangements to donate my family's furniture because we were moving. The operator took the list of furniture and scheduled a date for the pick up (May 21, 2019).
When the truck and laborers arrived today, they would not take any of our furniture. They said that it all had to be in mint showroom condition.
Are you serious? What do you expect for donations, people to purchase new items and give them to you? So you are telling me that you will not accept items that would be very helpful for less fortunate individuals?
Never again will I donate a penny to the Salvation Army after this experience. You are truly not out to help others in need, and simply to line your pockets.
My local SA refused to take a dining table and chairs because they didn't want to pick it up. It wasn't heavy, they just didn't want to do it. I will never do business with them as a donator or a buyer.
they're not waste management. They take things that they believe will sell. Otherwise, what's the point?
