I was at the Wendy’s Restaurant at 1661 Hyland Boulevard, Staten Island, NY (Store #1036) on Saturday, 12/23/2023 at 12:54 PM.
I purchased my meal and was given a cup to draw my own drink from a choice of 2 machines. The first machine I attempted to use spit out the syrup instead of the syrup/seltzer mix. I then proceeded to use the second machine, which was even worse, resulting in syrup being sprayed all over my legs/shoes, as per the pictures below. The manager, Jessey, said he couldn’t do anything about it. He checked the machine, although why I don’t know, and stated it was ok – when it obviously wasn’t. He gave me a wet paper towel to try to clean myself off, but it didn’t work – my pants and shoes were stained with orange syrup. I asked if the store was going to pay for my dry cleaning and/or replacement of my pants/shoes. Jessey stated I would have to contact Wendy’s directly, so here I am.
I've sent a total of 3 emails to Wendy's complaint department, and haven't had the courtesy of any meaningful response beside 'thanks for reaching out'. This is the most annoying company I have ever tried to deal with. Their blatant disregard for their customers is truly mind boggling. I guess they figure if they never answer your complaint that you'll just give up and go away.
If anyone knows how to get their attention so I can get my issue resolved, it would be much appreciated.
Claimed loss: Ruined pants and ruined sneakers
Desired outcome: I would like compensation for the price of my ruined pants and sneakers.
