To whom it may concern,
I'm writing in regards to the horrific experience I endured last night while waiting for the 1:01am LIRR from Central Islip to Jamaica. As per usual, I am at the Central Islip station 10 mins prior to the trains departure time due to the strict time scheduling the LIRR abides by. My complaint lies in the fact that I was left standing on the platform when only half of the trains door were opened. Not only did the train fail to fully open, but as I ran over to the open portion of the train, the conductor looked me in the eyes, closed the doors and proceeded to move the train. Now my questions are 1) How do we (the passengers) know that only half of the train will open at night? 2) How do we (the passengers) know which portion will be opened? 3) How do we know which part of the train is north, south, east or west? 4) Where is the courtesy for passengers who are unaware of this procedure? And last but not least 5) Is this the morale that employees are trained to represent the LIRR with? I'm am completely outraged! The fares are pretty pricey and being that 1 train per hour runs in the late hours of the night, wouldn't you want to make sure all customers have boarded and are going safety to there destination? Is excellent customer service and courtesy too much to ask for in return? Due to this lack of regard I was 2 hours late to my job. I work in a time sensitive field where my presence impacts many lives besides my own. Im hoping to hear from someone soon regarding this situation with a reasonable solution.
Thank you.
