The UPS Store - Missing small package - electric hearing aid amplifier worth $39.99

On April 11th 2021, I applied for a Return Request online. I received the QRCode for it (1ZW97W679092407895). That would be the shipping label.

The next day on April 12th in the morning, I dropped off the package at my local UPS Store for them to ship package off to Amazon. It was a young male assistant who took the package, clicked the code on my phone and printed out shipping label for the package.

I requested a receipt and the young male assistant said no need for it. According to Amazon my refund will be processed when they receive my item.

I have to give a few days for shipping to happen because of the high packages being shipped.

On Wednesday April 21st, I checked online if Amazon received the package and they were still waiting for it. I contacted Amazon customer service about 3 times to ask if they received the package. They all said it was not delivered. That they could not give me a refund without proof of receipt for the package.

Thursday April 22nd, I went to UPS Store and required to a young female assistant that Amazon customer service said they are to update the tracking details or give me a receipt for my package.

She clicked on the QRCode on my phone than claimed it's not in the system. On top of that I asked her to look in the boxes laying around for the small package. She didn't bother to because she believed it was not received by me.

I went online to UPS website and checked for the package. Shockingly it said this:
Last scan April 11th 2021 at 9:48 AM-shipper created a label, UPS has not received package yet.

Now that make no sense when the young male assistant printed out that label in front of me after clicking on the link from my phone.

I'm very angry because now I lost exactly $43.54 and I believed my package is still at the UPS store some where. I have a hearing impairment and requested to read lips some times.

Desired outcome: I wanted the package either found or a receipt from UPS Store and get my refund from Amazon.
