As other Cart Attendants have mentioned, it is a two person job, not a one person job. It is completely impossible for one person to do the job for most of an eight hour shift by themselves. There is rarely even anyone that helps when the sole cart attendant takes a mandatory 15 minute break or their half hour lunch. You have to fill up the bay with carts before you take lunch, all to come back from lunch to see the bay completely empty of carts and a dozen customers/members waiting for a cart. They still expect the one person to do everything in the same time frame as two, or even three people despite recognizing that it is a two person job. They say they are Frontline focused, and there is probably no job more on the front line than a cart attendant. I do not mind having a difficult job, but one that is impossible is another story. The customers/members deserve better and so do the Cart Attendants.
In addition, your schedule constantly changes, not just start and end times, but different days of the week so you end up working nine days out of 10 consecutive days. And I am a full-time employee, not part-time.
