Burlington Coat Factory Direct - Racial Profiling

In enforcing Title VII's prohibition of race and color discrimination, this review seek to retool its enforcement efforts to address contemporary forms of overt, subtle and implicit bias. As a customer of Burlington Coat Factory since the early 2000s and have continued shopping there at least twice per month. On August 22, 2023 after being in the store for over an hour I was appalled by the behavior of the cashier. Her tone and attitude with my returns were mean, rude and disrespectful. The funds were then spent on back to school items where she then stated to peel away the clearance tags to see if the label underneath matched its price. I stood there shocked in embarrassment, shame and disgrace by what had occured. As a leading off price retailer with over 800 stores nationwide I have never experienced such racism and discrimination before. Not only did she peel away one clearance sticker but she did so for all of the items I bought on sale. Racial profiling and discriminatory practices are prohibited by law in which my rights were violated. Such employee should loose their job and disciplinary actions taken. I have strong substantial evidence and a police report to validate my claim. This has been the worst shopping experience I have ever encountered in my life and wish no one has to be subjected to such cruel and wicked acts. Also, one of the managers she told me that he’s always harassing people and that he hates women and he’s very rude and very mean and another manager told me that they’re trying to get him out of there. I don’t know why HR can’t fire him. How can you just tell customer to get the [censored] out of here and I’m so sorry what happened to you and Wayne? I’m not originally from New Jersey and I’ve never seen so much racism in my life. My stepmother is black. My family is black. I’m from Canada. I’ve never seen so much racism in my life until I moved here.

Hi my son got profiled and then the security guard went in the bathroom held the door open while my son was on the toilet stood there for a few minutes then went back and told my son to get out there was people waiting hey you need to get out of there and I’m like that’s my son and he knew that was my son cause I actually told him that and then after I told him he went up and told my son to get out he definitely is always following us around. I spend a lot of money in that store Max husband makes millions a year my son has a phone app and his phone. He can buy whatever he wants. He was just walking around like if you can’t walk around look at things without being profiled Then I don’t know what to do. That’s just freaking crazy then I went back a few times and the security guard got mad at me because I file a complaint with HR and he kept glaring at me following me around then I decided not to go when he was there. I tried to avoid going hours he was there and then one day I went I didn’t see him so I continue to shop. I was about to check out. He’s staring at me the whole time waiting at the end of the line and then as I go to leave, he says get the [censored] out of Here. The manager came between us and told him to get away from me. He wouldn’t get away from me, he kept yelling get the [censored] out of here get out of here sorry he didn’t say get the [censored] out of here in front of the man. He only said it one time when I was leaving he kept saying get out of here. He kept screaming and get out of here and he kept coming towards me. He wouldn’t listen to the manager now we’re three months later and he’s still not fired and then I got some idiot on this profile saying oh there must’ve been something more that happened. No some people are just like that some people are just [censored] and they have mental problems and I’m not stopping until he’s fired and I’m gonna follow a police report if they don’t friggin fire him how can you make a purchase Not make any contact with the security guard and on your way out how can he just say get the [censored] out of here after I’ve paid money in the store this is Ludacris I’m 52. I’m almost 53. I’ve never had anything like this happen in my life. I just happened to walk every day to the gym and it’s on my way, so it’s easy and I do tend to shop every day and I buy a lot. Why the hell am I being treated like this? It’s crazy. This is in Morristown, New Jersey and I see that you’re in Wayne. Maybe they’re just all friggin racist I mean the security guard is black. I’m Muslim woman. I don’t know what’s going on, but nobody should be speaking to me this way. I’m a paying customer.
