When I was informed that the tires were ready to be installed, I received a call from the manager that the rear brakes were almost metal to metal and the front brakes were at 10% usage left. He offered to replace the brakes for $1100.00 but could do it for $931.00 As I was not experiencing any brake issues, I declined his offer. I brought my car to my local mechanic who checked and said that the front brakes were at 8/32"and the rear brakes were at 5/32", no repair required. Either the Mavis Tire Co manager was incompetent at best or was trying to take advantage of an out of town, what he perceived as an elderly person. I believe the later to be the case. I plan to inform the local BBB for this deceptive practice.
