Took my 2004 Ford Ranger into mavis tire to have a check engine light inspected. Dropped the car off at 8am, and was informed around 10am the code was an engine misfire. Was told that spark plugs, Coil, and battery were the culprits. Told them to fix everything. Came back around 6pm after calling around 5pm, and being told the truck is finished. After receiving the vehicle (cost was almost $300 higher than original quoted price) I started to drive away and realized very quickly my truck was shaking. Took the car back and talk with the manager. We both talked with a mechanic who stated that now the O2 sensors are faulty and those need to be replaced now too. I was never informed about those repairs needing to be done. After questioning the mechanic I was told “yeah it’s not safe to drive” so I almost left the lot with an unsafe vehicle. The truck is still in the shop, waiting for a resolution to the problem
Claimed loss: I had to call out of work on a Friday, since I had no access to a vehicle or ride
Desired outcome: I would like to be compensated for my time without a vehicle, and for the parts messed up by the mechanic
