Walgreens - Refilling prescriptions

Went to the Doctor on Monday 5/10/21. I got a phone call from my doctor had called in prescription at 2:30 pm. I got a notification that one of my meds had been filled. I didn't get anything about the other call-in.
I called AARP and talked to them about the wait on the other prescription, that had been called in at the same time,
I called Walgreens from 10:00am got put on hold for 20 minutes. Then called back hour later got put on hold, this time as to speak to pharmacy person in charge of filling prescription. I was put on hold the phone rang 25 times and in between someone kept hanging up and putting the call back on hold.
After another hour I called back and was put back on hold, I finally got to speak to pharmacy main person. I asked why my prescription had taken 48 hrs. to be filled she said it would be ready shortly I said I would be there in 5 minutes. She said it would be 20 more minutes, I told her it had all ready 48 hrs. One was a new mental health drug and a diabetic. When My Doctor Calls in an order it has been up 8 hrs before my drugs are ready if not longer. I have this happen a lot of times. I wish MY AARP would CHANGE to someone else NOT WALGREENS drugs Bupropion SR 150MG and Glimepiride

Desired outcome: AARP WOULD DROP WALGREENS totaly

I am in New York and first of all I want to say I’m sorry that you are stressed out and concerned about prescriptions! I am also a victim in New York!

My philosophy on all prescription fills/refills should NEVER be our problem. We do NOT WORK THERE IT IS NOT YOURS NOR MY PROBLEM filling or fixing ANYTHING that has to do with ANY prescription! This is the 21st century people what is the issue? It is our job to fulfill all prescription billing/copayment information. Give any physician contact information if they ask us for further details-information.

Claudia, I actually chose Rite Aide that I LOVED! They were a true corner drug store! Then. . . I get notification that it is going to be Walgreens! I give it huge space when changing over. Employees, computer system, corporate policies, pharmacy vibe, etc. a lot of my Rite Aide crew still stayed and are still here now. But yeah, there seems to be pharmacy issues and policies that Walgreens the company has in place to be followed BUT it sounds like your pharmacy JUST LIKE MINE are practicing undermining goals of Walgreens.

I have called corporate twice already. I have medication that is crucial to take every day with out missing or it messes up my system. It’s classified a level one narcotic but but it isn’t per say a narcotic. It a new gastrointestinal medication. I have had Walgreens order this five days before it’s due (because I made the call giving them PLENTY time to get it) - I got this prescription refill THREE WEEKS LATER! I had to call my gastroenterologist and explain everything that is happening. I literally started back to day one with this medication!

I am sure that you and me aren’t the only ones in these situations at Walgreens Claudia? I just glossed over my FIRST story with my Walgreens pharmacy. I’m chuckling right now. I’m thinking that if they used ALL their energy and time covering up their mistakes by making (sometimes) colossal mistakes - they could have had some fantastic emergency protocols, new pharmacy procedures, stock inventory, Friday inventory cross checking customer upcoming refill due.

I’m sorry that this is so long. I’m venting and furious about ALL the things that are anti customer friendly. Or, costumer efficient when filling prescriptions. And the snotty rude answers that you get making you feel like it’s YOUR FAULT!

YOU ARE NEVER ALONE! If these people leave you feeling like it’s your problem- ask for pharmacist name and counter help snotty person- look up Walgreens corporate website and there is a number to call to report your incident. This is not what Walgreens wants it’s pharmacy to be. And- the more we convey our experience and thoughts. Our family that does business and we could go elsewhere- - - maybe change COULD happen!

It’s a fact Claudia it’s easier and healthier to be happy, nice, open to understanding, new ideas, evolving, courteous and helpful (now that is a biggie for the pharmacy counter people) and a smile 🙂 sometimes people need to be reminded again and again and again and again- you get the idea!

Again Claudia- I know you felt REALLY ICKY that day in the pharmacy because they MADE YOU FEEL LIKE THAT! Do not EVER NEVER EVER let someone make you feel yuckie when you are just doing “your life “ ALWAYS KNOW THAT YOU HAVE A GROUP OF FRIENDS OUT HERE LIVING BREATHING AND FEELING LIKE YOU DO WITH NEGATIVITY TRYING (and sometimes catching us off guard like Walgreens pharmacies Nationwide- the more I read the more I see this and know!) TO INNOCENTLY FILL A PRESCRIPTION AND LEAVING FEELING LESS THAN! What a [censored]ty [censored]ty thing to do!

These Walgreen pharmacy employees are abusing the handbook, training, customer service and support at the expense of customers having to possibly have mild to severe health issues set it because they did not have their prescription refilled in due time and the body is withdrawing and starting to well, not good-

I guess my next question - is this a liability thing if someone has serious issues problems that never would have happened if she would have had the medication before or on time as to not miss a day?
