Walgreens

I received a call stating that my mothers breast cancer medication was ready for pick up. When I went to the pharmacy first thing in the morning I was told that the physician never faxed the prescription which I personally observed the physician actually submit the prescription I was advised to call the physician and tell them to re-fax the prescription in which I did and the physicians office advised me that I had been sent three times. When I called to check the status to make sure that the prescription was being filled As it was needed that day I was advised by the pharmacy tech there that they had been out of stock and they would not be able to provide us with the medication until this next following Wednesday I advised her that the medication was needed for breast cancer and what can they do to help us now she stated I needed to call other Walgreens pharmacies to See if any of them had the prescription available. I asked the pharmacy technician shouldn't they have advised us first thing in the morning that it wasn't another prescription that was needed by the doctor but rather that the pharmacy was out of stock and shouldn't they be calling other pharmacies in order to Get our medication to us she advised me that she was too busy to call and I needed to do so on my own. I constantly experience poor customer service skills at this pharmacy being told that my prescriptions are ready when they're not being told that the doctor never faxes them which they do but this really takes the cake to be told that your cancer medication is out of stock and you need to call around and find it rather than the technician advising us first thing in the morning it was out of stock it was not the physicians fault or somebody calling us to let us know that it was out of stock and that they would call another Walgreens. Luckily I found another pharmacist on Acushnet Avenue Walgreens that was more than happy to help me and was able to refill the prescription but I think this will be the last prescription that I'm filling with the Walgreens pharmacy
