View all 2306 complaintsFamily Dollar - tried to return a defective product and the store manager lied to me four times and refused to wait on me.
On 3/29/2019 at 2:46pm I brought some items including 2 Misting Fans. When I got home I put batteries in them but one of them did not work. On 4/3/19 at about 5:05pm I went back to the same store with my receipt and the item to ask to either get one that worked or my $5.00 back. First the clerk told me that it wasn't on the receipt. I pointed out that it was. Then she said that I didn't buy it at that store. I showed her the address. She and the manager said that it wasn't in the box. I told them that it didn't come in a box. She then pointed out that it was bought 3/29/19 so it was last month and she couldn't do anything for me. When I said that was FIVE days ago she just yelled "Next!" I was furious. All I want is a working item or my money back. The item number is [protected] and the receipt # is [protected]. Is there anything I can do?
