I visited the Big Lots at 3938 Breckenridge Ln Louisville, KY 40220 on 10/17/20 and around 7:45pm I got in line to check out. There were only about 4 families in front of me and the line was not moving which I'm used to at Big Lots. j The cashiers are very chatty and take too long to check people out and always asking for email addresses and phone numbers so they can continue to market to current customers. (this does not happen at Costco) After about 7 minutes the line had barley moved and I noticed one employee walking around putting things back on shelves and another lady sitting behind a cash register either doing something with the cash register or playing a video game. Another 5 or so minutes went by and the line had not moved an inch. The lady at the front of the line was having problems with something. The line was getting longer and longer. Yes, only 1 cash register open all this time. Finally the employee that was walking around opened up another lane and let the person at the end of the line (who had just got there) go to the newly opened checkout isle. This really angered me because we had been in line for a long time! I said something to him about how long we had been waiting and said "I don't know, they got here first." Then the lady behind the cash register doing nothing heard me arguing with the other customer because they jumped in front of everyone else who had been waiting over 10 minutes so she opened her lane. I let the people in front of me go ahead of me. The line I had been waiting in was at a stand still because of some unknown reason. After being in line around 15 minutes I finally got to the lady cashier and I told her that POS (point of sale) is the most important part of a business. I told her nobody was even noticing how long we had been in line nor did they care. She laughed it off and said "oh, it's because I'm short and I couldn't see." I said, "no, I saw you sitting down and not paying attention!" I asked who is the manager and she said it was her and the other man that was wondering around the store while we had been in line for a long time. They obviously did not care how long people were waiting in line nor how frustrated people were getting. They need more training. If it were my business (and I am a business owner) I would have given them a piece of my mind! (which I did anyway) If those 2 are the managers what were they managing!? Terrible way to treat customers. I remember why I don't like going to BIg Lots now. My over 1300 Facebook friends will hear about this as well. Oh yea, and Instgram!
