I bought 8200.00 worth of furniture, and asked the saleslady if they took ebates rewards she said no, upon an online check after I left I found out that they do, it would have saved me 2% which would be about 164.00., but the kicker is that if she had of told me the truth it would have affected her commission, something is just not right about this picture. Then I also found out that the exact same items I purchased could have been bought for several hundred dollars less, online from the same store to say the least I was upset. I tried to call the saleslady or the manager, but neither responded the first day I called and left a message, I called back the second day and the lady called me, I expained what I found out that had happened and she said there was nothing that she could do.. I wanted to cancel the order and she said it would cost me 10% because I had signed an agreement saying so. I also found out that the full size temperpudic mattress that I had originally wanted and she said it was unavailable, was online. Also, I found out that the warrenty that she sold me that was supposed to provide one cleaning per year, for 5 years does not, and it is voided if you move, which I was planning on doing immediately. I want them to cancel the entire order and not charge me the 10%, it is not scheduled to leave the warehouse until Nov 1, 2019, and I started trying to cancel immediately after making the purchase, 10-10-19. I found out that they have many many unsatisfied customers, many of which are in a class action law suit with the company. I do not feel it is lawful to charge me more than I can get it online for at the same store, and I am not happy that the full size mattress can be purchased online but not in the store, And I am not happy with the warrenty since I found out more about it, and the fact that it will not do what she said it would do. It was 349.00 and the other one was 199.00 for the mattress base. and I am certainly not happy that all of the items that I purchased could be bought cheaper online that I was charged for them, not to even mention the fact that delivery online is Free and I was charged 69.00.. I had no idea I was going to run into all this extra information after I had made the purchase. I feel had. I am on the hook for the entire 8200.00 +, and I paid 1685.00 down, if I cancel they want to charge me 10% which will be 820.00 for only a few minutes of their time to enter the information, as nothing has been shipped yet. I do not feel that this is right, especially given the circumstances. The sales lady made a point to tell me about her faith and that of the company as well, then I encounter all of this very frustrating information. It destroys any good that they thought they were doing. And their credibility is tarnished, not to mention all the extremely negative repsponses I found from other customers. Their track record is horrible.
I have reported this to the FTC and the BBB, Todd Wanek CEO Ashley Furniture, and intend to leave reviews anywhere they are accepted. People need to know what they are getting into.
The pictures below show that I could have bought the items for much less than I was charged, even from the same store, but online. I paid 1349.00 for the same sofa, that could have been purchased for 1199.00 at the store and for 833.00 at Coleman Furniture, and the recliner that I was charged 849.00 for in the store I could have bought for 733.00 online, and 463.00 at Coleman, and the power base 1399.00 but I was charged 1499.00, and the warrenty I was charged 199.00 should have been 149.00
