My mom, Kyungsin Cho, needs strip for One Touch Ultra 2. Her blood sugar level is unstable where it shoots up to over 400 and then falls down to 70. Her doctor wanted her to check 3-4 times a day for the next few weeks just until they find the right regimen, but CVS won't fill it claiming that it is not covered by Medicare. The pharmacists indicated providers needs to call Medicare and fill out the Medical Necessity form, but when the providers office called the number for Medicare that was provided by CVS pharmacist, they were told pharmacists need to call Medicare. CVS pharmacists insist either my mom goes to another pharmacy or get the medical necessity form from Medicare. My mom is not eating because she cannot check her blood sugar level, and she is concerned about her high sugar level. She won't take her medication because she is concerned she will be hypoglycemic. CVS pharmacy needs to resolve the issue rather than insisting on us taking our Rx to another pharmacy or provider takes care of the issue instead of the pharmacists. Worst service ever.
