Hello, My name is Erica Martin/Cook and I was recently working for Ross Store #1588 At the Gurnee, IL location. Ive been going through a domestic violence to were the court has gotten involved and I had to take time off work two weeks before being terminated of the first restraining order with my husband that have gotten denied, which it was for my home, children, car and job so that I would not have my co-workers at risk with danger. The day that my husband have been looking for me came in my presents with an fire arm and he has gotten arrested, At this point restraining order was still not approved until after him being arrested. The day I was told by Waukegan police dept to go get an emergency restraining order is the day I called my store manager (Glory Sawyer) letting her know the updates about the arrest which she still put me on the schedule of me being her only morning cashier. She stated she put me down for no call no show. So I asked her when is the next day that I work and she stated that she has taken me off the schedule, so basically I got terminated over the phone. I also reached out to her boss which his name is (ROB). I signed up for unemployment which I have been appealing until they did their own investigation as store manager (Glory) stated to unemployment that I voluntarily quit which is not true. I had to fax all court documents and police reports to unemployment about this matter. And I feel like that was really wrong of her knowing my life was in danger and also the safety of my co-workers.
