US Bank - misinforming customers about features and collecting fees

I had called US Bank asking if they had a feature to automatically move money from my savings account to checking, if there was an overdraft. They explicitly told me there was none on 9/22/2014.

On 10/27/2014 there were overdraft and negative balance fees for 86$ and they refunded me back only 43$.

When I called back and asked their recommendation is to activate a overdraft protection for 12$ for each overdraft. I was not informed of this feature, although I explicitly asked for it.

The manager claims that its absolutely not possible that one of her employees gave out the wrong information and claims I as the customer either lied or misunderstood the information given on 9/22.

She has advised that it is not her responsibility to keep track of my account or inform me of the account transactions and has asked me to carry my phone around and keep checking my account for transaction changes.

Worst of all, the person I spoke to right before the manager under the name of Britney didn't mention about the overdraft protection fees either when I asked her for a feature to link my savings to checking account. I got to know about it only when I spoke to the manager.

This has been a waste of time and money for me. It feels like US Bank prefers to collect fine and fees over happy customers. I would like to see them change their attitude towards dealing with customers.
