Firestone Complete Auto Care - Damage caused by firestone technician

On Nov 19 I took my Ford F150 to Firestone Auto Care in Lagrange, Ga. for a service engine warning light. Error Code P0303 = Misfire in #3 cylinder. Bernard, the service advisor said that changing the spark plugs and cleaning the fuel system would fix the problem. I took the truck in the next morning at 9. I had nothing plan for the day so I stayed and watch the technician, Jamar struggle with replacing the plugs. He kept going back and forth looking for the right tool. Around 6:45 he said he was finished. I paid the fee and took keys. When I started the truck the service engine light was still on. I asked Jamar why the light was still on. He said, "it will go off shortly, it has to reset itself." His response didn't sound correct so I asked if he could run a diagnostic check to see if the same error code showed up. He ran the scan three or four times but would give the me results. He said I needed to bring the truck back another day. At this point I have very little trust in what Jamar is telling me. I drove home. The truck ran worst than it did before Jamar did the work.

On Dec 3 I took the truck to AutoNation Ford in Union City, Ga for the check engine light. The service advisor said, "who ever changed the spark plugs last damaged intake and it will cost $3, 000 to repair. He also said the truck needed spark plugs, ignition coil, boots and thermostat to correct the problem.

I am seeking reimbursement of $683.34 for the repair cost. I want Firestone to fix the damage caused by their technician, Jamar.

Sincerely,

Randy L. Ricks

I've been a Firestone customer for over 40 years. Every car/truck I owned was serviced by Firestone Auto Care. I've no problems with the service until not. My opinion is that Firestone should fix the damage caused by their technician and reimburse me $683.34 for the fault repair.
