I'm writing to inform you of an incident that took place the morning of Monday (Aug. 19, 2019) at the Arco station (2225 W. 16th St., Sacramento, CA) in which your attendant refused to refund my money after I pumped gas, and my tank didn't use the full amount I originally paid. Let me explain.
At approximately 6:10 A.M. Aug. 19, 2019, I parked at pump 5, asked the attendant for $30 in gas (for pump 5), handed him a $50, received $20 bill in change. I proceeded to pump gas until my tank was full. The pump stopped at $26+. I went to the same attandant and asked for change back on pump 5. He asked if I paid with a card, I replied no, cash. He kept shaking his head, and basically said he's not seeing I get change. He printed out my receipt. I confirmed I paid him the $30 like the receipt showed, and echoed I only pumped $26+. I pleaded with him to go look at pump 5, it's not $30, I'm owed change. He insisted he didn't see I get change back. I didn't want to be late for work - I have stopped at this station 2-3 times a week on my way to work, paying cash, for the last 7 weeks - and I wish I could continue to make this my go-to stop for gas, but can no longer be a customer at this location since you have a thief working for you at this location.
I went back Tuesday (Aug. 20, 2019), after work to ask who worked the morning shift that Monday. The two attendants said they didn't know, and when I asked them to look at their schedule, they said there wasn't a schedule. I returned the next morning - (Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2019), and again asked your attendants the same question - who was working Monday's morning shift. The woman gave me a name: Adrish. She followed me out to my car to ask if I had an issue. I explained my experience. She apologized, and took my name and number (I have yet received a call). It's not only that I'm out the $3+ money, which is a gallon of gas, it is the fact that if this attendant is stealing from customers then you need to be aware of it. He has a good hussle going. And if he's not terminated for stealing, then he'll continue to steal from your customers, and you'll lose customers. You lost this customer. And all my friends whom I've told.
P.S. I have posted a version of this situation online to warn future customers.
Thank you,
Genny Howe - former customer
