I have been a loyal customer of massage envy's for the last 2 years. Rather than renewing this year, I decided to discontinue my membership due to my pregnancy and scheduling challenges. They called me to tell me that my card had expired and I though, perfect timing - I would like to cancel my membership at this point as I have fulfilled my year obligation (2 to be exact). The rep than told me I would have to pay for an additional month? I asked why since I had not used any additional massages so why would I have to continue for an additional month? She said that is how cancellation works. I said, I do not agree, and I will not be continuing my membership. Please cancel immediately. It's been 2 months and I just looked at my personal bank statement (which was not the card I used for billing at massage envy) - Turns out they actually stole my personal card info that I used to tip several visits ago and took it upon themselves to continue charging that since my agreed to card had expired and apparently they did not want to follow my instructions and cancel my account 60 days ago!? I first called the branch, and they had a not that said I updated them with this info - WOW. Blatant lie from their employee who I remember speaking with twice - What a scam! I called my bank immediately and filed a claim. Careful dealing with dishonest companies such as massage envy, they will go to any lengths including stealing - UNBELIEVABLE... I see a lawsuit coming soon if these practices continue. You can only get away with these things for so long.
