Cox Communications
I am writing to express my concern about the unexpected loss of my Cox landline service after I contacted Cox to discuss my bill.
I called because my internet, TV, and landline costs had increased, and I wanted to ask whether any loyalty discounts were available. I was told that current promotions applied only to new customers and that loyalty incentives were no longer offered. During the call, I was repeatedly asked about Cox Mobile, which I declined each time. I did not ask to cancel or disconnect my landline service.
Within about 24 hours, my home phone stopped working and had no dial tone. I contacted Cox several times through the automated system, phone support, and online chat. Each time, I had to repeat the issue, and it appeared there were no clear notes on my account. I was told a service ticket would be created, but the issue remains unresolved. I was also told a technician was scheduled for July 9, but no one arrived.
As of July 12, 2026, my landline has been out of service for about two weeks. I have also received an email instructing me to return the phone modem by July 19 or be charged $122.00, even though I did not request cancellation of my landline service.
I have been a Cox customer since the company was known as Cox Cable, and this experience has been very disappointing. I am asking Cox to restore my landline service, preserve my existing phone number, remove or suspend any modem-return charge, and provide a written explanation of what happened.
Have called several times and done the chats and all I get is we will have to transfer you to another team to help you and nothing gets done. As a matter of fact it seems no notes are put in your file about you calling or what your issue is and you have to start over again and again. I have submitted this through the chat a few times and I get, "I can't help you and you need to call," which I have done and the process starts all over again with nothing happening.
