After having spent 4 months playing this game, building my capital city. I got destroyed in a few days. 24/7 multiply attacks by players with super armies and bad attitudes. What took me 4 months to build was destroyed in 2 days.
They farmed me, using a "travian farm bot". This is a program that runs in the background and manages your Travian browser game. They just set the bot to build-up their infrastructure and attack other players when their forces reach a certain level. They then have multiply attack launched on a victim from: multiply cities, accounts and other trusted friends. This works out to receiving 1000's of troops/hour in an attacks 24/7.
I tried talking with: the aggressors, the guild owner and the game owners. I got no sympathy, but only inappropriate disrespectful responses. And yet the owner's didn't think it was a problem. Then they banned me for posted this in their forum. Apparently, they feel pretty smug hiding from behind their computers (in their parent's basement).
It seems they support cheating and unfair game play. Come to Travian to be destroyed by well established bullies. You won't be allowed to enjoy this game because the friends of the owners are the only ones enjoying themselves at your expense.
As a response to this. I deleted my account. I would rather end my game then feed their war-machine. This takes 72 hours. 72 Hours in-which the attacker dog-piled onto my capital city. Like hyenas and vultures tearing apart a carcass.
If you going to make an on-line browser game, at least make it fair and enjoyable for everyone. Travian is a failure. And what's more, the owner refuse to fix the problem and resolve this problem by silencing the victims.

I have another big complaint about Travian fraud crooks. I am registered years with my account I have just Deposit money in my account then suddenly I got banned for using script or bots. I honesly never used this before and will never I dont believe in cheating I feel it take the fun out of the game. I ask for proof and they say they can not show it to me. They have destroyed 25% of all my buildings and taken all my resources for punishment for something before GOD I know I did not do at all. I am very pissed at travian all my years supporting them and playing this awesome game they have now. Destroyed my trust in them fully. SO PEOPLE STAY AWAY FROM TRAVIAN!
Been there, done that. I played as Moog over several servers, wasn't a noob, appreciated it was a wargame and took my licks. I was repeatedly victimised by Chris Chris, who simply deleted accounts (just before artes? Suspicious? Much?) after minor infringements had been properly dealt with by MH. Complaints are a joke. Why hasn't Chris VC moved on? Been there for years, no promotion, no seeking out new stuff, no ambition? Maybe there are chocolate teapots so useless that even with the most glowing references, their utter lack of competence and integrity is evident the moment that they're interviewed. I suspect this is the case. Not using my gold again until he's gone.
Travian staff and management are hands down the most dishonest crooks in the entire known internet gaming world - and I can confident tell you that with very little fear of contradiction.
This dishonest company has an extremely bad name of disadvantaging clients - especially their paying customers for some strange reason, with inconsistent decisions, bad attitudes from support staff and a German telephone number which is required by law but which is not attended.
Typically they leave players alone in the beginning of the game, but after a few weeks the trouble starts - banning of players for the most incredibly and bizarre reasons - no access to appeal or to management to review these decisions and no refunds of money already spent
If you decide to play Travian, especially these days, you deserve to be ripped off, there are plenty of sites out there which have horror stories of this awful gaming site.
I used to play Trav on the UK server. ChrisVC took a dislike to me and actively interfered with MHs punishments. He deleted two acounts without following Travian procedures, and has blocked my account since. I had gold on my account, which I tried to get back. but every email was either blocked or ignored. I cannot contact Travian, I cannot register on any UK server, and every attempt to deal with Travian's complaints department has been blocked. This is little less than theft. Don't waste your money people, this lot are a bunch of deceitful thieves.

Honestly, I did not have a second account or used any unfair means. My brother in Europe had another account, and he used the same password as I did, while he told me that I was his sitter. So I could log in to his account as him, while I thought I was just a sitter.
The MH was adamant on what was happening, and he destroyed a substantial part of my village, so I am just deleting my account. MH are great and the game must be played fairly, however actions like that destroy the game. Shame that people like him are allowed to function like mindless robots and destroy the game.
Travian, their support staff, their MultiHunters and ESPECIALLY the management are ALL a bunch of filthy crooks - it really is that simple
LegoTechnic is absolutely right. It's absolutely a game of human nature; those nerdy high school geeks who get picked on every day come here to turn the tables. As a newbie, there is absolutely no way to building resources in time to avoid being overthrown. The second (and last) time I played, I immediately went into defense mode. I built my wall as high as I could, hid my money in crannys, and built strong buildings. I did this knowing full-well I'd be attacked, but I wanted to try to stay in the game longer than I did the first time. This worked..and I actually believe I frustrated some of my foes, but eventually it became so boring just rebuilding everything and trying to increase my crops, that I quit. Once you are "forced" to join an alliance, you give up the individuality of the game and you are then required to play by the rules of others. I guess this game is fun for those who started on Day 1 and have been able to bully everyone else since.
There are rules in travian, if we have to pay money in travian then the support team must apply rules for every one OR refund our money .
I played Travian many times and i can say that even it is WAR game, it is not fair because of cheating or using cracks or codes to have the power. I wrote to the Travian support team that i need explaination on how a player get to over 320 population + 2nd village + Hero in less than one week?! he got 450, 000 resources out of robberies.. Please tell me how? from where? No way is this limited time you would get this much of resources.. I am sorry but this is unreal. All what the support team said these are experienced player.. well i am also experienced player i was raiding 24 hrs/7 days a week and guess what i only managed between 30 to 50K resources.. I had army.. so do not tell me that he had army that brought to him these resources.. also i had the plus meaning 25% extra per resources type. I put money just to see if it would make a difference. sorry but travian fail in this. Players are cheating and getting resources and building the power and harrasing others. I will never play this game again till either they fix it or i find the way to stop others from cheating.
Travian is, in essence, a game of harassment and human nature. There are players attracted by the advertisements who see the sim-aspect and think it sounds interesting, kind of civilization-esque, and thus join intending to play defensively and possibly even peaceably. Some may try to be active in the marketplace, while others may just seek to build up cooperative settlements. These are the players that prove to be the fodder for the more experienced players to exploit as they are farmed and demoralized early on with frequent raids at inactive hours. This is simply not a game for a non-aggressive or empathetic player--if you are not both firm and at times ruthless then you are merely leading your society to death at the hands of someone else who is.
Consider the ability of a 15-cropper to produce armies well over 13, 000+ compared against a 6-cropper not even able to support a third of that and you have a game noteably skewed in favor of the attackers. They will hit you when you sleep (inactive) and unless you are actively preparing and have friends to aid you will not be able to do anything about it. This is frustrating in many ways, but primarily because you are basically playing at the whim of the stronger kids on the playground, and if they take notice of you there really isn't anything you can do to prevent the wedgies. Welcome back to kindergarden where the biggest kid is the idol and he gets whichever of your toys he wants.
Thus sim-players are given a choice. Do you bounce back, possibly on the next server, and adopt the aggressive raiding philosophy for your own (if you can't beat them, join them), or do you just delete and say "to hell with this [censor]". Whether or not you leave the game, Travian won't care, as there will always be more suckers joining to feed the ammoral war machines.

Cheating is indeed a huge problem within the travian community. Considering real money can be spend on this game this should be kept to a minimum. However travian seems to promote cheating, a few simple software changes could prevent this. Instead the option "same computer usage", allowing multiple ip's to play 1 account and there own gold benefits, stimulate cheating.
Considering that the so called multihunters are not paid and implement rules as they see fit they are more part of the cheating then the solution.
Since there is no real protection from players who are much bigger then others, whether it is because of cheating, more online time available or just being a better player it trows the game of balance. Nothing will stop a larger player from bashing or utterly destroying a smaller player.
Aghor is a perfect example of how this community treats complaints and criticism. You are called a whiner, are being belittled for not reading the game mechanics and often personal insults are used. Really the game mechanics are fairly simple and strategies are not that hard to find or develop on your own. It is by no means a warsim, it's a game were those who are willing to learn the use of scripts or devote much more time then is healthy gain the upper hand.
Travian is nothing more than a site run by dishonest crooks - it really is that simple.
I've played Travian for a couple years now, on a few different servers. I have had to restart a couple times because of aggressive players. It is a war game, I have to agree. But I do have a few complaints and/or suggestions. Allowing one person to have multiple accounts (bannable) is just as unfair as allowing one account to be played 24/7 by two or more people (Allowed and encouraged). The use of sitters is a great idea. But getting a sitter should be used used as defense, and limited to spending down incase of attack, and troop movements limited to sending troops away as reinforcements to avoid attacks. Not sitting to bolster the times to raid on a given account. Travain would be better off to level the playing field a bit to be playable by a wider more varied group of people. Instead It is only playable and enjoyable by a narrow group.
I love playing Travian, but I belive it could be made so much better with just a few saml changes. Changes that would benifit the vast majority of current Travian players, and allow new players the chance to play and learn the game.
This is a war game. like every society, there are rules and expected conduct. In travian attacking another is an expected conduct. people play that game to do exactly that.
you are just a whiner who have not even examined various options within the game. say for example there is this option of building crannies to hide resources from invaders. another option is to join an alliance so that other members help you when you are in trouble.
if you were stupid to think you will manage alone, in a predatory game like travian, and did not join an alliance or joined a bad alliance ... thats your fault.
I've been playing this game for the last 8 months and have been attacked several times but I managed to come this far. remember this is no love making game it is a war game. even some of the largest players sometimes are forced to delete when an entire alliance turns against them and attacks with huge armies and catapults to destroy the village. some players who are in good supporting alliance manage to defend well against the invading alliances killing off tens of thousands of attacking troops.
Pitty you played unwisely without looking at all options available in the game and are now complaining against the game.

how can you be so sure...I use that strategy by playing 24/7 online...I almost never get up from my computer...
I go -1500 crop production in the very beginning ...that is when my population is still 100 my army will be 1500...
My initial aim is to destroy all my neibours and finally taking on the whole server with my friends who are my allies...I dont agree with you...this is wa war game..just because you lost the game ..you cant complain...
The OP is 100% correct - those crooks from Travian have been getting away with murder for years already - they are an absolutely awful bunch of dishonest crooks - I am surprised they have not been sued out of existence yet
