Travel Transparency review: Failed reservation and does not always have better hotel rates

This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

As a very new member and I attempted to make a reservation at a hotel on their website and everything seem to go through. I had a confirmation number but when I arrived at the hotel, the hotel said that they did not use legitimate code numbers, and therefore I was not able to use my confirmation number or my reservation. As a result, I had to make a completely new reservation directly with the hotel.

I called travel transparency because to me this was a huge red flag and told them that I wanted to cancel my membership and I wanted a complete refund for my down payments I had given them and they basically are refusing. They said I only had five days in which to ask for a refund… But my account was not usable until 14 days after I signed the contract.

They did give me a refund for my reservation that I made with them though
Also, when I reached out to customer service regarding this, the representative twice just hung up on me. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was not transferred but hung up on.
Also, during the summer when I tried to make reservations in Ventura County, this company did not have better rates, not even close than the competitors.

Desired outcome: I would like a refund and no longer work with this company.
