On February 29, 2020 I had THD (transanal hemorrhoidal dearterialization) done at Thornhill Endoscopy Centre by Dr. Maharaj. It has been an incredibly positive life changing experience in so many ways. Not only the relief of ending five years of torture with hemorrhoid pain and discomfort but Dr. Maharaj has restored my faith that doctors exist who do truly care. I cannot say enough about his patience with me, my endless questions, my ongoing panic attacks at the thought of the surgery, my questioning of his clinic, his personal experience, his professional abilities, his techniques, his success rate and details of any complications from any of his surgeries ! I was relentless. There isn't anything I didn't put this man through and he responded with patience, humility, honesty, care and 100 reliability throughout the entire ordeal. The truth is the ordeal was mostly in my head after spending more than a year researching all of my options. It was my personal experience with Dr. Maharaj that convinced me to have the procedure done and I am beyond able to adequately express my gratitude to him and his staff for their exemplary service and care. The man gave me his personal cell phone number and answered me in a timely and patient manner every single time. When it was too much to cover by text he called me and talked to me until I was finished asking all my questions. He was never short, abrupt, impatient, rude or anything but kind. He followed up with me daily after the surgery by text and is still texting me from hard earned holiday down south. Blessings on you kind doctor and all the good work that you do. I will always remember you as an exception to all the rules. Much respect.

Not sure if this is true of all the doctors at this clinic, but the one who saw me had all the charm of a drill sargeant. Factory medicine at its best, you have the opportunity to be wheeled in and out without any questions or hello, or goodbye, at least with the doctor who saw me.
I walked out with a prescription without any one saying what it was for, when I should take it, and how long for.
Seems to me that they push procedures to generate income.
I have never felt the need to go public about a service before, but this experience was the exception.

Russian receptionists are very rude and unprofessional. They talk amongst each other in Russian more than they talk in English. Average doctors at best who focus on completing a procedure in the fastest time possible than rather doing it properly.

I strongly disagree! My family and I were patients at Thornhill Endoscopy and found the doctors and staff to be highly skilled. The clinic is impressive, and the experience was second to none. I would strongly recommend this clinic!

Nurses are not licensed. I saw a report online about The Health Board of Surgeons asking the Clinic to provide the nurses certification, they got a Conditional Pass which is VERY BAD. Patient care is awful here. Very unhygienic clinic. DO NOT go here, they treat you like a money customer, they rush everybody through tests, the doctor doesn't come see you after procedures, it is not safe for your health to do ANY procedure here.
