I had applied to be a model on this site called Hashtag Models, that I saw on an Instagram advert. A few days after my application, I got a call from this agency called Vox Talent, where I got called in to their studio in Camden, London, for an assessment photo shoot, and was asked to pay a 50 pound deposit, which I was told would be refunded to me if I turned up for the shoot. My shoot was fixed for 11th August 2023 at 11.30 a.m. I turned up on the day. I'm not going to lie, the day of the shoot was great, my photographer and makeup artist were simply amazing and made me feel very comfortable. But once my shoot was done, I was ushered into a room where despite the fact that I made it clear that I could not afford the higher end packages, I was made to sign the 1500 pound package and was reassured that I could pay monthly. Though reluctant, I felt pressured to sign that contract and after signing the contract I immediately paid 300 pound on the day. A few days after my shoot, my life took a turn for the worse and I had to leave my home in the UK and subsequently had to leave the country, owing to certain personal and mental health issues. I simply could not afford to perform the contract as my circumstances did not permit me to do so. As a lawyer, I am well aware that as per the terms of the Consumer Rights Act 1974 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 1999, I was well within my rights to cancel the contract, and had a period of 2 weeks to do so. I emailed the studio 10 days after my shoot, on 21st August 2023, stating the change in my circumstances and clearly mentioning that I could not afford to perform the contract and therefore requesting cancellation of the contract. But from then, it has been a battle with the studio as they are refusing to allow me my right of cancellation and are merely offering me a reduction. I thought that was a little strange. What good would a reduction do for me when I am unable to pay anything? I wrote multiple emails stating that I could only try to procure money but I would prefer a cancellation as my situation is very difficult, but the only response that I got was that I would have simply have to pay up and that they would only give me three months to assess my situation before I was made to pay. That showed a complete lack of understanding on their part. I even wrote an email citing laws that support my case and had to stand my ground that I could not pay. I have not received a response to this email. I am now afraid that these people will not stop and the pressure to pay up will continue. I cannot pay up anymore! It's not like I have not paid anything, I have paid 300 pound and my 50 pound deposit has not been refunded to me yet, so they already have 350 pound. It is just that I cannot pay anymore owing to the change in my circumstances. Moreover, I have not received any of the products that were promised to me on the day of my shoot. Then why the pressure to pay up, when I have made it sufficiently clear that I cannot?

Desired outcome: I would like for my contract to be cancelled permanently, without having to pay anymore as I cannot afford to pay more than I have.
