This thing never works, like ever! Me and my travel buddies can't get it to work either. It's a total waste of time and super frustrating. Don't even bother using it!

I gotta say, I was pretty impressed with Thimble (aka Verifly). I needed to upload some important docs for my flight back to MIA from SDQ, and this app made it a breeze. No more fumbling around with paper copies or worrying about losing anything - just snap a pic and upload it. The whole checkin process was super smooth and quick thanks to Thimble. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to make their travel experience a little less stressful.

So, I recently tried out this app called Thimble, which is actually called Verifly by its parent company Daon. Apparently, American Airlines has contracted them for some booking requirements, which is pretty cool. The app promises a faster experience through the airport and boarding, which is always a plus.

The app has a four-step checklist, which seems pretty straightforward. The first step is to take a profile photo, which has to be taken with your camera. I tried to use a passport photo, but the app only allows the front camera on your phone and it's smart enough to know if it's a two-dimensional image.

The next three steps cannot be viewed ahead of inputting data, which is a bit annoying. I mean, why can't we see the whole checklist before starting with the photo? I suggested to the app developers that they add a readme file to show the whole process, but they replied that they cannot show the screens prior to filling each prior step. Not even in a flat FAQ instructional file?

This brings up another question: what is Daon's business model for creating this app? I mean, the airline already has our information, as do two governmental agencies for international flights. What does Verifly do with this info? If the product is free, then we are the product, and our information is the profit generator.

Lastly, Daon claims that our information is deleted a year after we delete the app. But based on the issues already mentioned, I don't really trust that statement. Any company that doesn't fully disclose answers to these issues proactively has something to hide, and it's not to the user's benefit.

Overall, I think Thimble/Verifly has potential, but there are definitely some issues that need to be addressed. It would be great if they could be more transparent about their business model and data usage. And maybe they could make the checklist a bit more user-friendly. But for now, I'm not sure if I'll be using it again.
