Dear Michelin Team,
I’m writing to report a scam involving someone who falsely claimed to represent Michelin.
I was contacted through LinkedIn by an individual offering an online self-employment opportunity that they said was connected to Michelin. However, there was no clear information provided about how the opportunity worked, no documentation, and nothing online that verified this supposed affiliation. When I asked for proof, I wasn’t given any legitimate details confirming that this was genuinely part of Michelin.
Unfortunately, I have lost over £2,500 as a result of this scam and have experienced considerable stress throughout this situation. I have already reported the incident to the police via Action Fraud, but I also wanted to make Michelin aware, as your company’s name and reputation are being used to deceive people.
I would like to request that this matter be investigated, as I believe others could also be targeted in a similar way. I’m happy to share screenshots, contact details, or any other information that might help your investigation.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any action you can take to look into the matter
Claimed loss: £2500
Desired outcome: An investigation and relevant action taken.
