Mr. John Boyle, CEO

AAA Corporate Regional Headquarters

Auto Club of Southern California

3333 Fairview Road, A-415

Costa Mesa, CA [protected]

Dear Mr. Boyle,

The purpose of this letter is to file a formal complaint against your AAA (Auto Club) office located at 5402 Philadelphia Street, Suite A, Chino, Ca 91710. The incident occurred on August 04, 2022, during which I was attempting to renew two vehicle registrations. I checked in and noticed the usual line for registration renewal as several people were in line. I was told to have a seat and my name would be called. I thought this was unusual since I have been there many times for registration renewals and always waited in line without any issues and not seated. After waiting for about 30 minutes and noticing others that had arrived after me were being called to renew their registrations. I asked why I had to wait and sit for such a long time and people arriving after me were being called and was told by the AAA employee to “walk around” which was insulting because of my medical condition not to mention her disgusting and disgraceful tone. After 49 years of membership, I felt intimidated, helpless, and disrespected in addition to embarrassed. I asked to speak to the manager and was told she was in the bathroom. My name was finally called and went to the window and the clerk (no name tag) was very stand offish, rude, and unpleasant. She told me that the second renewal registration could not be processed because it required a smog certificate. I told her that the renewal notice did not state that a smog certificate was required, and she could not explain the discrepancy or offer any help. I paid the $149 fee, and the DMV printout said the vehicle required a smog check. As I was walking out, I was stopped by Several Chino Police Officers who told me that AAA Chino had called them and reported me. After being detained and harassed for about an hour, the Sergeant Police Officer finally explained that the AAA call was not warranted and thought AAA was mistaken to make such a call. To me, it seemed like retaliation by AAA for complaining about the service. There were five Police Officers involved for the call. I was totally humiliated, embarrassed, upset, harassed, angry etc. because of the reprehensible actions taken by AAA. In addition, that experience caused by AAA was unjustifiable and juvenile. I guess that after 49 years of membership that is the appreciation and treatment I get from AAA.

I then went to the smog station, and they refused to smog the vehicle because the renewal notice did not sate that a smog certification was required. I told them that AAA Chino (Auto Club) said a smog certification was required and they said AAA was wrong and they always have made that mistake and do not know what they are doing. I then returned to AAA and asked to talk to a manager. I was told at check in that she was gone for the day. I thought that was unusual and the AAA employee at check in seemed to agree. About ten minutes later, Ms. Nevarez met me. I explained what the Smog Station had told me, and she checked the system and could not explain the discrepancy or offer any help and told me that I would have to resolve the issue with the DMV. I asked if she could call them and get a resolution and she did not seem to want to assist me any further. I was essentially on my own at that point. I also explained my dissatisfaction to her about AAA calling the Police on me.

The following day I contacted the DMV via an internet chat and explained the situation. The DMV stated that the vehicle did not require a smog certification and that AAA (their partner) could have and should have resolved the issue. The DMV also indicated that AAA put the registration in a pending status which also caused additional issues. Finally, DMV stated that if AAA does not offer to help, I would have to come to the DMV to correct the situation. I have documentation of the chat with the DMV.

I would appreciate a response to this complaint and would like to know if AAA will help with this debacle they created and any assurance from AAA that they stand by their commitment as quoted:

“We strive to support our members & community”

“It’s not often that a company can remain vital for more than a century, but AAA has survived and thrived because we’ve never lost sight of our mission to help our members – and by extension, our community – meet their ever-changing needs.” End of quote.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

William Wawrzyniak

Desired outcome: Appropriate action

The Auto Club Group Auto club refused to pay one doctor, but paid all the other bills

08/06/2020 I had an accident on Tibbits Wick Rd and Logan Ave. approx 11 AM, Auto Club's insurer FTY right of way, cited by the OSHP. File # is [protected], Adjuster. This adjuster has been deceptive across the board. We had discussed all the bills to be paid by her Amy Blome. She agreed. Other than my pain and suffering. My pain and suffering was astronomical to say the least. My neck was thrown out of line due to the severe impact and damages. Resulting in the total loss of my vehicle. I had to be taken off the transplant heart list for several weeks. Which means if a heart came available I would be put back at the bottom of the list. Ms Blome acted as if this was not an important issue. Why? Because she or no one at this insurance company had no expertise in this field. Reused to seek professional advice regarding an LVAD device that is a heart pump. Due to the weeks of Severe pain there were tests that could not be performed, Because I had to lay perfectly still, which was impossible. Neck would crunch at any turn. It took months for the neck to be put back in line. Torn cartilage that can not be addressed. It is in the chest area. No MRI can be done either. Permanent. She would not even discuss this issue, although the doctors firmly supported. She was deceptive in order to save the company money. She had me sign my release withholding info that she would not pay this one doctor. All bills were paid but this one for $10,000.00. Deception and fraud in reference of scheming my one doctor was not worthy of his treatment. This bill should be paid immediately. He advised that he should of had a check like everyone else. I without any doubt believe she played the race card. Knowing we were black people and did not deserve to be treated fairly. Advising me never to use the word unethical to her ever again, as if I were a slave and she was my master. She should be fired as a claims adjuster. For withholding Medical payments. We discussed my pain and suffering would be seperated. She sent me the release for $65,000.00. which was for P & S. Then she calls me an states she will be paying the bills from P & S money. Fraudulent and deceptive.

Desired outcome: Pay the doctor's bill $10,000.00 to Dr. Brennan ASAP.
