Sun International lack of winning combinations on slot machine, less payouts, and bad coverage of winners announcements in non-smoking sun lounge

There has over the years been of late even more lessor and lessor winning combinations on the slot machines, it has really become a pathetic situation with how having come here since its opening and all too familiar with how the slot machines used to pay out winning combinations and jackpots. These days that is no longer evident.

Then when you sit in the non-smoking sun lounge while having a meal and announcements are made it is definitely not audible enough or visually appealing and many times one misses out on a win.

Grandwest is the biggest joke of all time. I showed my husband how I could predict what the slot machines would do. I would put my card in and tell him the first spin they will give you 2 off features to get free spins and four of 9 or 10's. Then you never get a combination or 2 features again. Only 2 nines. The next machine the same happened etc. When I eventually get spins after hours of feeding a machine, I get a set of spins and win only the money for getting the free spins. This is disgusting. Where is the return that the government demands casino's to payout. They obviously don't care as their take gets bigger is the casino's profit is bigger.

Sun International adventure rush and service

I booked in yesterday 02 April 2017 and was told that vouchers were not available but can be picked up at reception at 08h00 the next morning. The next morning my daughter and I decided to have breakfast before collecting the vouchers and plan our day. The ladies at the breakfast buffet did not want to let my daughter in because I needed to pay for my daughter's breakfast. When I booked it was for ONE adult and ONE child and breakfast was included. After a debacle they let us in but my day is already ruined. After breakfast we headed to pick up the vouchers and guess what. No vouchers available because apparently head office is running promotions without sending vouchers according to your staff. I am very upset and frustrated. Your staff is extremely unhelpful and unfriendly and does not know a thing about customer service. I would really like to know if breakfast is going to be a daily struggle for the duration of our stay and when we will be receiving our vouchers if ever.

Sun International entrance fees

We went for the first time to sun city.
As we approach the gates the charge me my wife and sum total of R200.
When we park and walk to the transport reception she told us that the train is broken we must wait for a bus. After 20 min I ask her how long we still to wait and she replied 15min. After a while they fetch us but drop us at the hotel.
We want to go to the valley of the waves. As we got there they lady said we can only stay till 14:00 because the whole place booked out for private function. And we had to pay again to enter another R200. We got there at 11:00 so we paid in total R400 for three hours! We also got a locker for R70 because it can't give change for R10. We also bought something for my son sweets at the shop where he injured his toe by the entrance!
I going to try all my best to express my experience to so much social media as possible! I did try to speak to staff as they say that is how it works.

Sun International lights

We slept over at the cabanas on 22/1/2017. We walked from the soho to the cabanas past calabash. There is no lights on the walkway. My husband fell and injured his leg. For a holiday resort that claims to be 5 star and have no lights at nights is unacceptable. We are visiting sun city for many many years but sun city is deteriorating. What if my husband broke a leg or something?

Sun International Feedback regarding discounts and specials for holiday stays

Good morning

Please can I have some assistance. I call the head office this morning and spoke to oliveria at 9:24am. I was then transfer to brownyn and didn't receive the feedback I required.

My query is that I have a gold membership card now account [protected] for the last 5 years and I have not received any discounted rates on rooms or any specials been sent to me and I have family and friends that are receiving a lot more discounts and wild coast stay which I have never received. Please can I get some feedback with regards to my query as I quiet disappointed with the lack of specials I receive being on gold.

I don't feel there is a need to keep this status if only selected people on gold receive holiday stays and free play.

Thanking you for any assistance

I feel exactly the same. We are experiencing the same. Years ago there were always something special to be a MVG, but nowadays it is nothing special and I don't think you will get any reaction on your complaint.

Sun International bad service by security company and security staff

We got robbed at sun city soho hotel in our hotel room, the security is up to sh..., any body can walk around in the hotel by the rooms no questions ask. We reported the situation and the securtiy said they will enteregate the staff to see who entered the room, 2 days past still no news, i phoned the security to speak to a manger but no luck, if they arent by the pool area they are either in a meeting or gone home early. Even when we went to valley of ways the security let some people in with alcohol!They havent even got cameras on the floors by the rooms

Sun International Non-payouts

Simply put, GrandWest scams people out of their money.
I started going to GrandWest a few years ago and maybe went once every few months...Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose which is why its a gamble. I won a few times more than 10k rands in one night...Then I started to go more often and just started to loose. Now I cannot even win more than a hunderd rand after spending more than 1000 rand.

Throughout the years I noticed that the type of machines GrandWest used, moved away from the traditional spinning reel slot machines but more of the video type machines. They removed a lot of fun and exciting machines and replaced them with the boring video slot machines which can be easily manipulated.

I consider myself a reasonably intelligent person and whenever I went to a casino I knew exactly which machines gave me good returns, how much my bet was, how many spins I took etc. These days its not possible to even remotely establish which machines will give good returns cause all of them are just sucking your money. Don't get me wrong, I dont sit for hours on one machine and put in thousands of rands in machine. In one night I would try 20 different machines and all of them won't even give me a bonus. Statistically that is impossible it's because the machines are set incredible low to pay out.

I won't go into details on other slot machines but let me just say something on the "progressive " machine called Duma. I have triggered Duma feature twice at GrandWest and if your score is less than 26, you will win a maximum of 2500 rands (25 x 100). I won 1900 rands and second time 1700 rands. I triggered Duma twice within 1 month but after one year I could not manage any more triggers on Duma.

Bottomline is GrandWest is cheating the Jackpots that is linked to other Sun Interntional Casinos. This is how they do it... Whenever you press the spin button Duma can be triggered anytime. So whenever you press the spin button, but the reels are not spinning, then the Duma cloud should appear from the left side of the screen. This should allow you to play the bonus feature. However what happens next is that the slot machine suddenly loses "Comms" and then resets...So you do not see the Duma bonus game at all, and hence no jackpots are given.

I tried everything to win some extra cash...Changed my cards, changed my betting, going different times & days to the casino, trying almost every type of slot machine available but at the end of the day I can not even manage to win one minor jackpot (few hunderd rand) let alone a major jackpot...

GrandWest will take your money, and take your money, and take your money and keep smiling while taking your money...but oh wait you get free coffee voucher (x2) so at least you score something...

On the 3rd of Feb 2016, my right knee was injured whilst at a machine (Grand West Casino), the bottom of the machine shot out and fell onto my right knee. Still to date after numerous Doctors visits and all I am still awaiting a solution. I have lost my informal job due to lack of productivity.
