This business is customer driven, but only in the sales department. At a recent appointment for a winter tire change with Subaru City, I was informed that the appt would be just over sixty minutes. No problem. I was informed that I could not wait in the building, as they were following an Alberta Health public health measures due to Covid and were only allowing dealership capacity to 15% of Alberta's fire code allowance. They did not take into account the 15% capacity does not include employees. I have no support system or person to pick me up, hence I was told of two options. One is they would pay for an *** to crowded WEM where I could wait. They were not willing to drive me home as I live in a rural community outside of Edmonton. The third option was to wait outside. At 3 degrees in the rain, I waited outside for a timely 50 minutes until my winter tires were placed on my vehicle. During that time, I noticed many customers going into the dealership enquiring about vehicles. There was no issue with Subaru City allowing new potential vehicle purchasers entering and waiting in their building. This seemed to contradict their story to me regarding the 15% fire code allowance during covid. As an already established customer of three years, I believe Subaru City should pay as much respect to established customers as they do to potential new customers. On location dealership options for customers who do not or cannot be or want to be in crowded drop off locations via *** should be considered ie: small covered area in parking lot that has a heater. Simple adjustments by Subaru for their service department customers should be as important as their sales department.
