SROA Last resort only! 18 months of rent only to lose my most valuable belongings.

After having rented space for 18 months, my unit was burglarized (to the tune

of some $10k+ replacement cost), along with some 15+ other units at the

complex, back in March of this year - over three months ago. I discovered the

break in only after visiting my space, weeks after the break in - no

notification from them! Filed a police report, with a copy to the local office.

Was told that an insurance claim would be forthcoming. Was given an email

address of a local office administrator, but my messages went unanswered.

Called their answering service and was promised a call back within 24 to 48

hours - TWICE, two different occasions, 2 wks apart! They charge a mandatory renters insurance fee, with no paper work (contract) to back it up. As Mr Rogers might say, "Can you say 'fraudulent business practices'? "

They had on-site cameras, but "the cables were cut" (by the thieves). How is it that a security camera system would be connected with exposed cables which can be easily cut? Personally, I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out that it was an inside job. It was obvious that the thieves had plenty of time and were in no hurry, since they went through every box in the unit, and picked carefully picked through the contents.

Finally, most insurance companies that offer renter's insurance offer

coverage up to $20k for the same cost that SROA charges, but offers only $2k coverage. If you're going to rent space from this company, at least be smart and get your insurance somewhere else!

Recommendation: Stay away! Use only as a last resort.

SROA Reliable and Friendly Storage Solution: SROA Review

SROA is a great place to store your belongings. The management is really nice and friendly. I've been using their services for a few years now and I've never had any problems. One time, I forgot to close my storage garage door properly and I was contacted by the manager Brenda in Piqua Ohio. She was really helpful and made sure that my things were safe from any weather damage or small rodents. I really appreciate her quick response and attention to detail. Overall, I would definitely recommend SROA to anyone who needs a reliable storage solution.

SROA SROA Review: Pricey Parking with Unexpected Rate Increases

I ain't gonna lie, I was pretty ticked off when I got hit with not one, but TWO rate increases in just 8 months for my spot at SROA. I mean, come on, I'm just parking my 12-foot trailer outside, it ain't like I'm asking for a luxury suite or anything. The first increase was in March, they tacked on an extra $5 a month. Then, just when I thought I was in the clear, they hit me with another increase on October 31st, this time for $7 a month. That's a total of $12 extra a month for the same dang spot!

Now, I ain't saying SROA is a total ripoff or anything, but I gotta be honest, it ain't worth it to me to pay $52 a month for an outside spot. I mean, I could probably find a cheaper spot somewhere else if I looked hard enough. And here's a tip for y'all - don't prepay for months ahead, 'cause if you decide to leave before your payments are up, they ain't gonna refund your money. So, just pay month-to-month and keep your options open.

All in all, I'd say SROA is just okay. The facilities seem pretty clean and secure, but the prices are a bit steep for what you get. And those rate increases really rubbed me the wrong way. But hey, maybe it's worth it to some folks, I don't know. All I can say is, if you're thinking about parking your trailer at SROA, just be prepared for some unexpected costs.

SROA Terrible Experience with SROA: Locked Out of Storage Unit and No Response

So, I gotta say, I'm pretty peeved about my experience with SROA. I signed up for a free month in September, but it seems like they've completely forgotten about me. To make matters worse, my storage unit has been locked up tight, and I can't get to any of my stuff. And it's not just my stuff - my roommate and son have things in there too. My son even needed some of his college stuff for classes and clinicals, but we had to go out and buy all new things because we couldn't get to the old stuff. It's a real pain in the butt.

I've been trying to get in touch with someone at SROA to figure out what's going on, but so far, no luck. If I don't hear back from them soon, I'm seriously considering getting a lawyer involved. This is just ridiculous. I mean, I get that mistakes happen, but this is a pretty big one. I just want my stuff back, you know?

SROA SROA Review: Poor Management, Inadequate Snow Removal, and Unjust Rent Policies

I gotta say, SROA ain't the best. They don't give you no leeway when it comes to being late on your rent. I was only 4 days late and they locked me out! No warning or nothin'. And all they wanted was the late fee, but they didn't even give me a chance to pay it.

Another thing that really grinds my gears is the snow shoveling. They don't do a good job of clearing the snow in front of my unit. I almost slipped and fell a few times. And don't even get me started on the spiders and other bugs. They don't spray for 'em, so I gotta deal with 'em myself.

And to top it all off, the price has gone up since SROA took over. I used to pay less than $100 for my unit, but now I'm paying almost $150! It's the same unit, ain't nothin' changed except the price.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend SROA. They don't treat their tenants right and the price ain't worth it.

SROA Disappointing Customer Service Experience with SROA Storage

I recently had an experience with SROA that I wanted to share. I had originally signed up with EZ storage, but they ended up selling their property to SROA. When the move happened, my property was stuck in an expensive unit because EZ storage did a renovation and moved me without even asking me first. They only told me weeks later, which was frustrating.

Now, I'm stuck paying about 100 dollars more a month because of this situation. While I understand that it's not SROA's fault, I was disappointed that they weren't willing to charge me what EZ storage did. It just didn't seem fair to me.

I've been with SROA for nearly 7 years now, so it was disappointing to have this experience. I just wish they would've been a little nicer and catered more to my situation. It's sad to see customer service lacking in situations like this.

SROA SROA Storage Unit Review: Outrageous Prices and Strict Payment Policies

I gotta say, I'm pretty upset with SROA. I've been renting a storage unit from them for years now, but I'm at my wit's end. It seems like every time I turn around, they're raising their prices. I mean, come on! I started out paying $86 a month, and now they want to charge me $166? That's just ridiculous. I'm not made of money, you know?

And it's not just the prices that are the problem. They're also really strict about their payment policies. If you're even a couple of days late, they'll lock you out of your unit and make you pay to get your stuff back. And if you're 30 days late, they'll tack on an extra $100 to your late fee. It's like they're trying to squeeze every penny out of their customers.

But the final straw for me was when they cut off my lock and added their own. I was only a few days late with my payment, and they didn't even give me a warning. I had to pay extra just to get my own lock back! That's just not right.

So I've decided to take my business elsewhere. I'm going to move all of my deceased parents' and grandparents' belongings out of SROA before they raise their prices again. It's going to be a hassle, but I can't afford to keep paying these outrageous fees. I just hope that other people don't have to go through the same thing I did.

SROA Poor Management and Communication at SROA's Clearwater MN Location: A Disappointing Experience

I recently switched from a bigger storage shed to a smaller one at SROA's Clearwater MN location in September. However, I have been facing some issues with their management since then. They have been trying to charge me for both storage sheds, even though I am only using one. Every time I call their call center, they assure me that they will fix the issue and that the site manager will contact me. However, it has been almost two months and after six calls, I am yet to hear from the site manager.

To make matters worse, I received a letter from them stating that they will be auctioning off my unit for non-payment because they are still trying to charge me for two units. I have a current lease for the unit I am occupying and have paid for it. When I called again, the call agents were very nice and understanding, but the site manager still did not follow through and never made contact with me. I am extremely disappointed with the poor management of SROA.

It is frustrating to deal with such issues, especially when I have been a loyal customer for a long time. I hope that SROA can improve their management and communication with their customers. It is important for them to take responsibility for their mistakes and rectify them promptly. I would recommend that potential customers consider these issues before choosing SROA as their storage provider.

SROA Unsecured and Unsafe: My Experience with SROA Storage Unit

I've been using SROA (sroa.org) to store my items in a garage size unit since February. I usually stop by once a month to check on things and make sure everything is in order. However, in October, I was in for a rude shock. When I arrived, I found that the lock on my unit had been changed. I was completely confused because I knew I had been paying them on time and couldn't think of any reason why this would happen. I immediately called the customer service and was told that painting was going on and maybe the painters needed to cut the lock. I was taken aback by this explanation. They had no idea why there would be a different lock on the unit.

I decided to take matters into my own hands and cut the unknown lock. To my dismay, I found that my items had been rifled through and my unit was a complete mess. At that moment, I knew I had to take my belongings out of there as I did NOT feel good about leaving them there.

Unfortunately, a similar situation happened at another unit across town, except they had thousands of dollars of stuff come up missing. I haven't completely inventoried my stuff yet, but I did find my original lock that someone had broken off and left inside one of my boxes.

The lack of security at this location is appalling. There are no cameras up in between units, and there is no need for even a passcode to get in because most of the time the gate is just left wide open. It's shocking that I'm paying $160 a month to have my items unsecured.

I would strongly advise anyone looking for a storage unit to take their business elsewhere. It's not worth the risk of having your belongings stolen or tampered with.

SROA Unannounced Lock Replacement and Poor Customer Service from SROA Storage

I've been renting a storage unit from SROA since November and I've never missed a payment. However, when I went to the unit on a Sunday to retrieve some items, I found that my lock had been cut off and replaced with a combination lock with a sticker from SROA. I was never notified that this was going to happen and I would have been there to remove my lock if I had known. I think they should only do this to unoccupied units.

I've called SROA several times to find out what's going on, but they keep transferring me to different people and sending my complaint to the "escalation team." No one has called me back and no one seems to know why my lock was cut off. There are no notes or orders in my account that explain why this was done.

To make matters worse, the last time I called, the person on the other end asked me if I was sure I had the right company because they don't have a location where I said they do. I was looking at my online account while we were speaking and I could clearly see that the unit I have is one of theirs and it's located where I said it was, complete with the address. So yes, I do know what I'm talking about, but obviously, they don't.

All I want is my stuff back and some answers from SROA. It's frustrating to be passed around and ignored like this. I hope they can resolve this issue soon.

SROA Terrible Experience with SROA Storage Unit: Avoid at All Costs!

I recently had a terrible experience with SROA, and I strongly advise others to stay away from this storage unit. I had originally rented a unit with Cubesmart on 2/18, but SROA now owns it. I was not informed of this change, and my rent stayed at $76. When I was a few days over a week late on my payment, I was charged $90 without any prior notice. The customer service was incredibly rude, and I was shocked by their lack of communication skills. They even had my sister's address on file, even though I had changed it a year ago.

To make matters worse, the unit I rented had a hole in the ceiling, and the prices were bloated and constantly increasing. I decided to move to a different storage facility in Linden, which was not only cheaper but also had much more polite customer service. I paid the $90 fee, but I was not willing to continue doing business with SROA.

The customer service was so bad that I had to pay for a rental truck and a new unit, which cost me over $150. The employees were rude and unapologetic, and they refused to unlock the gate when I was leaving. I had to yell at them to open it, which was incredibly frustrating.

I strongly advise others to avoid SROA and their terrible customer service. They do not care about their customers and are only interested in making money. I will be leaving reviews on Yelp and other resources to warn others about my experience with SROA in Fenton, MI.
