In May 2024, I paid Speedway Subaru over $800 to replace a side mirror on my 2019 Subaru Forester. I confirmed the correct color using my VIN, but they installed an off-white part that clearly didn't match my car. They admitted ordering the wrong part, apologized, and then told me I’d have to pay out of pocket if I wanted it painted to match.
I followed up multiple times but received no response. Subaru of America refused to intervene. I had no choice but to file chargebacks and a BBB complaint. I also received an email from a technician that was clearly meant for his manager—complaining about me, the customer.
The lack of accountability, communication, and professionalism has been astonishing. I expected better from a dealership under new ownership.
Country of complaint: United States
Claimed loss: $823.48
Desired outcome: Full refund of $823.48 for the incorrect part and installation, and acknowledgment from the dealership of their mistake without passing the cost to the customer.
