South University review: Academic administration/education

I am filing this complaint to document severe academic and federal reporting misconduct by South University. Their actions include deleting my student records, submitting false federal data, manipulating my financial aid, and destroying my active enrollment at Liberty University, where I was already succeeding academically.

1. South University Deleted My Records After I Completed Coursework

South University confirmed in writing that they deleted my student records.

This deletion:

• violates federal record‑retention requirements,
• contradicts their own academic documents (acceptance letter, Chancellor’s List, 4.0 GPA),
• and directly prevented Liberty University from receiving my transcript.

This is not a clerical error — it is the destruction of federally relevant academic records.

2. I Was Already Enrolled at Liberty University and Completing Coursework

I was fully enrolled at Liberty University for Spring 2026.

• I completed 16 credit hours
• I maintained a 4.0 GPA
• I was in good academic standing
• I was fully integrated into Liberty’s online program

Liberty University had already:

• processed my FAFSA
• accepted my Student Aid Index (–1500)
• issued my full College Financing Plan
• approved my Summer 2026 financial aid package
• confirmed that my aid is ready to disburse

The only remaining requirement was for South University to send my transcript.

Because South University deleted my records and refused to transmit my transcript, Liberty placed a registration hold, and my Summer 2026 enrollment — which is already funded — cannot proceed.

This is ongoing, active harm.

3. False “Never Attended” Federal Reporting

Despite:

• a Chancellor‑signed acceptance letter (Mar 25, 2025),
• a Chancellor’s List award for a 4.0 GPA (Jul 1, 2025),
• seven months of full‑time coursework,
• Pell disbursement,
• and documented academic activity,

South University reported me to NSLDS as “never attended.”

This is a false federal report and contradicts every internal academic document they issued.

4. Improper Federal Aid Reversals & Manual NSLDS Manipulation

On September 22, 2025, the day of my expulsion, South University executed:

• 63 ledger reversals in under two hours
• removing approximately $19,000 in Pell and Direct Loans

The next day, they submitted a manual NSLDS override using the placeholder date 01/01/1901, which is only used when an institutional user cancels loans outside normal automated processes.

These actions occurred inside an active Borrower Defense forbearance, contaminating the data environment of a federal administrative proceeding.

5. Compromised Borrower Defense Case

6. Pell Grant Eligibility Destroyed

Due to contradictory reporting by UMA and South University, my Pell Lifetime Eligibility Used (LEU) was inflated to 250.008%, permanently eliminating my remaining Pell eligibility.

This is a quantifiable loss of $16,098.

7. Transcript Withholding Is Causing Active, Ongoing Harm

Because South University deleted my records and refused to send my transcript:

• Liberty University cannot lift my registration hold
• My Summer 2026 aid is approved but cannot disburse
• My degree progress is frozen
• My academic standing is jeopardized
• My financial aid eligibility is being harmed in real time

South University’s Chancellor personally emailed me on July 1, 2025, informing me that I had earned placement on the Chancellor’s List after completing 12 credit hours with a 4.0 GPA. In that message, he explicitly stated that this academic honor would be “permanently recorded on your transcript.”

This was a formal institutional assurance from the highest academic office at the university.

Despite this, the Dean later:

• expelled me without evidence,
• deleted my academic records,
• removed all evidence of my completed coursework,
• erased the Chancellor’s List distinction, and
• reported me to NSLDS as “never attended.”

By deleting my records, the Dean directly contradicted the Chancellor’s written promise and rendered his statement untrue.
This is not a clerical error — it is the intentional destruction of academic achievements that the institution itself certified as permanent.

This deletion:

• violates federal record‑retention requirements,
• falsifies my academic history,
• contradicts the Chancellor’s own certification of my performance,
• and directly harmed my transfer to Liberty University.

The Chancellor said my achievement would be permanently recorded.
The Dean made him a liar.
