I had to use the site's chat support today. I spoke to a customer service rep by the name of Abraham. As far as customer service goes I was pretty impressed with him. Sometimes it is hard to tell or know if you are speaking to an actual human or a bot or a human with standard-ready responses. But Abraham was not only determined to figure out my issue but very personable too. He was engaged and working on the issue/task at hand. It is rare to have such service from any online rep but Abraham was the exception! So Thank You for him! I surely wasn't expecting an unscripted person on the other end that is for sure. Glad to see they do exist and this guy deserves a raise! 10 out of 10!

I have only praise for Social Catfish. I signed up for the trial and immediately started asking for matches. The service showed me everything I needed to know about the people I was looking up. There was a bump when I tried to cancel though. I used the website to cancel my service but it kept telling me my email was not valid. As this was over a weekend, I had to wait to call. But I decided to send an email to customer service instead. Because it was the weekend, I was over the trial period by one day. No problem at all. They cancelled the trial. My card had been charged but it was refunded immediately with no questions or problems. Thanks, Social Catfish, you worked for me! Gwen J.

Absolutely a waste I was seeking services and really wanted to speak to someone they wanted to charge me $300 to speak with their fake private investigater or use their search engine Absolutely got the rudest email saying I should report it to the authorities they aren't a replacement for the police that person is an ahole so they take women who have ready lost money and do interviews on YouTube I'm starting to see that if they really wanted to help people they would be giving resources and referrals to therapy and educational services for things Like this I wasn't scammed thank God just Catfished told him nope and he was gone people need to advocate and educate not make money off of this it's just pure evil

If you're getting a "Free Trial," you must have enough sense to realize that there is a subscription or "auto renew" policy attached. It is stated right there. Look in the FAQ's if you don't see it. I used this site recently for a specific purpose. I found out out that my "cyber love" was a total fake. Someone had used stolen photos to lure me in. I was even able to contact the woman whose images were being used and inform her. I was terribly disappointed that I was fooled, but very impressed with the service. I then asked the site to not "auto renew" me, as I had gotten my results and no longer needed the service. They were very gracious and did not renew me. I felt that this service is well worth the money.

At first I was not happy at all with the services I was getting...I was not getting what I needed and each item I asked about they were going to charge me...Then I called the last time to get help and I got Abraham as my customer service person...AMAZING! SCAM. SCAM. SCAM. SCAM. SCAM. I paid for the 5-day trial. To say I was unimpressed is an understatement. As with most scam companies, they promise a lot BUT for the bigger & better results, they want more money. So on the fourth day, I called the number given to cancel. (Mind you, this phone number was on the page where I was about to sign on the dotted line just before I surrendered my credit card information. I've learned to screenshot such pages and retain them in my records for future reference. Good thing I did, cause trying to figure out how to cancel after the fact was a feat in frustration until I referred to the screenshots) Oh... but wait. It was a Saturday. They're a M-F company so if you have to cancel on a weekend before they charge your account again, you're out of luck. The voice recording stated for those who are calling to cancel, leave a full name and email address and they will cancel WITHIN 48 HOURS. Yeah. Social Catfish is a great name for a company that reeks of fishery. Judging by many other reviews, I have a feeling there are more frustrations to come before this is finally behind me.

After 20 years of being alone I joined a dating site. I had never been on a dating site, so I decided to try it. Within minutes a rather handsome man reached out to me and we began to communicate, He said he was an engineer on an oil rig on his last mission and was looking for his soul mate. Within a month he claimed he had lots of money, even provided his bank account for me to see, but his account was frozen. He first asked me for a $500.00 apple gift card so he could keep calling me. Then a part broke down and he needed $11,200.00 to repair it so he could finish the job and come home to me. On and on requesting money. I spent $5.99 to Social Catfish to do a reverse image and I'm so glad I did. He was not the man he claimed to be and in fact that man was a Dr from Italy and his obituary was even in the local newspaper there. The frightening thing about this is I believe a very high number of scammers are getting on darting sites and deceiving many people into sending them money. This a crime however if you're willing to send someone money it seems there is little help to retrieve it and I don't believe the dating sites care as long as they have paying customers. This is a huge problem and people are losing everything trying to get their love home. I'm so glad Social Catfish is here to help find out the truth about people. I highly recommend paying the small fee to find out the truth about someone you suspect may be trying to scam you.

I am writing this review to try to be as thorough as possible with my experience with social Catfish. I was brought to this website after trying to do an image search. The advertisements seemed like it was exactly what I was looking for. I uploaded the image and waited for it to conduct its search. The website stated it had less than 100 possible matches. That seemed great! So I ended up paying the $5.99 to see my results. After paying their site continued searching for more results. And at the time I canceled my membership, I was over 400 results. I had the membership for about 7 minutes and was completely disappointed with what was the results after paying compared to what was promised prior. I canceled the membership and conducted my investigation using other free sites and was able find the person. I reached out to social catfish and requested a refund. They gave me "more credits" but I declined and continued on with my request for a refund. And was later denied again because technically I received a product. Even though I didn't use it. They offered to help me with my results. But I did not need that because I had found the person I was looking for other ways. Their refund policy is non existent. And their reviews are very fake on most of these sites especially Complaintsboard.com. I want to make sure people know that their company is a scam and to read their terms and conditions before purchasing. Very sketchy company and I can provide any one with the data of the conversation I've had with this company.

Lured into paying for 3 day subscription. Billed amount for information that was indicated in my initial search, but was absent from the report after I paid for access.

Reached out to support requesting a refund but they refused, as I didn’t offer a screenshot of the issue. I had explained the issue very clearly via email.

I was then offered “tokens” for an image / name search. I tried to do image search and once again they tried to fleece me of more money but only allowing me to proceed with this search if I paid for an unlimited image search.

I am still unable to find any way to use the tokens offered.

So I was catfished by a company that claims to fight catfishing. Perfect cover.

Total scam.

I had requested to have my personal information removed from SocialCatfish.com first on August 3rd at 8:15PM, then again through the Optery removal service (power of attorney) and once more on September 4th 2023 around 4:47 AM (CST). My information still circulates today 9/5/23 under different ages, name variations, and locations. I would like this information deleted permanently.

I paid $300 for a supposedly professional private investigation of a gentleman a friend of mine is dating. I was told somebody would make a report and follow up with me within one week. No one ever followed up with me ever again. When I log into My account, the work still shows as pending two months later. After getting more than enough time to resolve the matter I asked for a full refund since I have not been provided any product. The company refuses to return my calls or emails.

I have asked this company to remove all personally identifying information about me from their site. It puts me at risk for identity theft and ask that all information be deleted in its entirety and not sold elsewhere. I made a request via email. Signed up back in Oct for free trail. Canceled it and continued to get charged. Spoke with someone over phone regarding my continued charges to my card and they said it shows it's been canceled and no further charges will be made ..well here it is 7 months later and still getting charged. They now informed me I had another email with them which I never signed up with. Never was I told this when I had spoke to them months back. I want a refund back. I never used the services past the trial date, canceled service, attempted to reach them via email and still receiving the same response from them that my card won't be charged however it continues to happen

This company has fraudulent practices and doesn't follow government regulations or its own opt out policies. I have had issues with this company multiple times, on having them to remove my personal information from there database period by following the opt out request process. They keep linking false information to me online to keep my personal information in there database, when I have requested to be removed over 100 times through the opt out process, by email and by phone. There are fraudulent and needs to be shutdown. They have my name *** and my adopted name ***, located in the city of Buena Park California. Also remove me from glossary under Buena Park, California

My name is ***, and I'm an Italian and British Citizen living in Italy. In Europe we don't have access to the website SocialCatfish.com anymore due to the new GDPR laws in the European Union. However, an American friend of mine through a simple Google research from the USA has found 3 profiles with all of my information (previous emails, social media, interactions, etc.. even an old phone number on your website). I have literally no idea of how that's possible, I've never heard of your service before. Anyways, I demand you to remove immediately all of my information from your website. I don't know about America, but in Europe we value our privacy and something like this is simply unaccettable!

This business is posing as a background report center but using individuals personal information in order to get people to buy a misleading and false report. The report is not a full background report. The site is just a way they get people to suckered in to spending money on someone they may potentially have a crush on and desire to be with. I have requested my employee's information be removed but they will not remove the information. Instead they are making money from displaying the name of people which is causing people to buy false reports regarding their home address, phone number and car tag information. This is illegal and against the law. I would like to know the name of the owner of this business and have the information removed.

07/28, I signed up for the service and charged an initial fee of $5.99 for use of services. The business has claims that by use of reverse image search - I would be able to identify related images and sources. By testing a few images, I quickly found the service unusable and submitted a refund request right away. The business attempted to tell me that the service worked and made a match for one of my images but left out the match that they manually added was done with facial search which again would have cost more money and was not part of the original subscription. I again requested refund and the business stated they do not offer free trials and offered some suggestions on cropping images/etc which still didn't work. This is why I am seeking refund from the business, services offered are not as described/do not work.

This company is nothing but a DATA BROKER selling the personal information of anyone for profit and all for a price starting at $5.73. It is simply ridiculous that the Complaintsboard.com gives this company or any Data Broker a favorable Complaintsboard.com Rating when their entire business model is selling the personal information of anyone on an automated website. *** E

On or about April 26 I signed up for a $5.99 trial membership to Social catfish as I wanted a safety measure for online dating. I tried the service out. It was terrible. It did not match pictures even remotely to reality, etc., so I followed the instructions to cancel within the trial time frame. When checking my bank account today on another matter I realized that social catfish has been billing me $26.99 every month since . (May, June, July, Aug and now Sept.) I called to explain the situation and to ask for my refund and "anna' claimed I had not cancelled but would refund one month as a 'courtesy'. When I asked to speak to her supervisor and for a corporate number she said there was no corporate number and the her supervisor, "***", was not in . would not give me his number or last name. I asked for his supervisor. She said that that person was not in and would not give me any name or number. I asked for the corporate info again and she refused. I hung up.

Going back to approximately September or October socialcatfish.com started charging my credit card two charges per month within a few days of each other for different amounts but both charges around $20-$30. I gave them my credit card information for a one time public information request. I have no idea what these two charges reoccurring every month are for. My credit card company capital one reverse the charges which took numerous phone calls and ended up with them charging me back and refusing to take any further action. I will be filing a separate complaint against capital one because of these charges and the way capital one conducts business. I was not aware of the potential fraud, capital one raised my credit limit without my permission to cover these monthly charges which social catfish should not be charging, capital one should caught the fraud, They definitely should not have raised my credit limit without my knowledge or consent to cover said charges.

Violation of Privacy and fake opt-out web page This company has a website which publicly displays personal information (violation of privacy) and they offer said information for sale to all for a price. They offer an opt-out webpage which does absolutely nothing. There is no way to contact them, and their domain information is hidden. Their public corporate address is either a mail drop, or a law office and they have no public office nor any employees. This website is a scam run by data brokers / aggergators whose sole purpose is to make money from selling the personal information of a vast number of people. They have a fake disclaimer at the bottom of every every web which hollow and illusory and means absolutely nothing. Social Catfish LLC is not a registered business in CA thru the CA SOS like they advertise. Also they do not have an office in CA; their address is a UPS Store. Secondly, the website claims to be a dating investiagtion site. First of all, I am not on any dating sites, I am NOT single and I am disabled. The site violates the federal law, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The site has my name listed NINE TIMES. It does not allow you to opt out either so I sent an email with the screen shots to the email listed on their website. Someone responded and told me to give my phone number, email and opt out on the site. I am not giving my phone number to a "dating site" that I never subscribed to! I do not give permission for an unlicensed CA Business, non-tax paying; who had illegally obtained my information such as MY NAME/ADDRESS/EMAIL/AGE/PHONE NUMBER TO PROMOTE THEIR BUSINESS FOR PROFIT. Social Catfish is not a legitmate RECORD GOVERNMENT ENTITY. They did not obtain the records thru the governement; nor followed the law on proper obtaining and use of governement information. Lastly, I have safety concerns with Social Catfish publishing my information on the internet.

Sincerely, The SocialCatfish Team" I requested for a service, in their service they said I will get 50 possible result but after I paid 5.99 they only gave back 3 results with balance of other results that i was not after. They misled me because i only paid for 50 result. They have refused to issue me a refund and they also sneakingly charged auto payment of $25 without my consent. Please assist me.

I did a free trial with Social Catfish.com and cancelled before the trial was over. At the time I was working 3 jobs and had various accounts on autopay (daycare, rent, electric bill, etc). After being laid off due to COVID and thrown into going into raising a 2 year by myself, I have been forced to comb through every transaction to figure out how I can make every single dollar count as we don't know when I will be able to gain further employment safely. Through my investigation, I found out that social catfish has been charging me every month since *** of last year. The agents are rude and refused to refund me the charges made on my account without consent. The first agent I spoke to confirmed that I never used the services after the trial and claimed that I was sent an e-mail every month that I was being billed so I should have cancelled. I never received an e-mail from them but did receive plenty of e-mail newsletter spam. I was referred to their manager, *** and he was so unhelpful and did not help me in this situation at all. The "best they could do" is refund me for 2 months. 2 months when I was charged 14! 14 $27.48 is $384.72! The total charges were almost $400 and he thought that refunding me only $54.96 was "more than fair. This is outrageous and FRAUDULENT! I am not the only person to complain about this issue and I don't understand how I cannot be refunded for mistakes that were made on THEIR END. I did NOT use their services past the trial and do not deserve to have money wasted when we're in a PANDEMIC and people are struggling to pay rent and feed their children. I am crying just typing all of this out. I cannot imagine that people are so inhumane to steal money from people who are already struggling. I would like to be refunded IMMEDIATELY. Their business practices are disgusting and hurtful.

I purchased the service to do a 5 day trial research for $5.73 with exception to do image research which is extra. Little did I know when I did some searches that it wouldn't go further into search but will ask for more money after I type in things. I thought maybe I could just do the letter name research but realized end of 2nd day, I would have over 2,000 name search like I"m not going to spend all day and night doing this. Into the 3rd day, I called Social Catfish again about it and they said the system should be working and I said it's not working for me to do researches that I lost the first two days. They said they don't refund and that I was able to do a research but I'm saying I wasn't able to do the full five days for my $5.73 trial charge. So few minutes later that same day, I went back to the computer to do researching to see if it was working or not and knowing I have 2 more days to end the trial period. I noticed they changed the system on me that I can do the research now. Since, I lost first two days of research so I called up into the 4th day and talked to *** and told him about what happened. He said he will grant me the extension of 5 days from the day I called him which would expire May 13. Today, May 9, being I already had requested cancellation from the 2nd or 3rd night to them and requesting refund, via email, that I wasn't able to do more research as *** said it was okay to continue using their system to make my lost of first 2 days and not have to refund me. I told him on the phone should I let the Social Catfish know of this change that he's allowing me extra days for searches and he said no. Now I see after today not being able to do anymore searches why maybe that's what happened so I won't get my refund and he lead me on and lied to me. Ironically, they're the ones going after the bad guys for us to do searches on their site, but I wonder if they too are the bad guys as they rip people off their pockets. Also, I noticed they were complained about, as well.
