I pay a VIP membership that allows me to open duets that others may join. If you don’t purchase a VIP membership you cannot open duets you can only join. The other day Smule arbitrarily made a decision to close the open duets after 7 days which is something Smule did several years ago and then changed to leaving duets open indefinitely, until the other day. I was a member of the Singtopia Facebook Community until I just left that group because like many others who have been complaining about the change to close duets and particularly with no warning, I was sent a warning that I was breaking their positive and kind rule. The individuals who are admins in Singtopia community group on Facebook are people who have been, what Smule refers to as Influencers…they’ve been and still are free and/or paid people who provide marketing for Smule on Facebook. The whole process is set up to make you think you belong to a community and can make friends around the world and yeah it’s happening … but for a price and it’s making the CEO rich. You really can’t complain because Smule is a business and does what it wants to do.

Desired outcome: I hope to influence Smule to reverse its decision to limit opens on the Smule Sing Karaoke App. I also want to make Smule aware that the influencers in Singtopia community group are really biased!
