I recently had the pleasure of purchasing a home from Shea Homes San Diego, and the experience was remarkably smooth. From the initial viewing to the final walkthrough, their team was attentive and transparent. The quality of the construction is evident, and the design options allowed me to personalize my space without feeling overwhelmed. The community amenities, like the pool and park, are well-maintained and add to the overall value. I appreciated the no-pressure sales approach and the clear communication throughout the process.

The workmanship of our new home build has required many appointments to fix problems. We have written to the company several times, and they sent tradespeople to address the issues. However, these issues have not been fixed to our satisfaction and have caused more damage to our home.

Roofers reported they fixed the tiles, but a third-party inspection revealed many broken and slipped tiles. The front door does not line up correctly, and despite multiple visits, the workers only added more caulking and sealant. The flooring is coming apart because it was not installed according to the manufacturer's specifications.

Painters and trim workers have visited our home many times, but each time they leave it in worse condition than before. The sinks and faucets were not installed correctly, and despite three visits, the tradesperson refuses to install them properly.

We have used up weeks of our paid time off to accommodate the builder's attempts to correct the issues, but there has been no resolution. We have extensive documentation and a paper trail of the numerous appointments, trades, and poor workmanship on our home. There is poor communication and execution of the attempted fixes.

The pantry support beams are coming apart, door trims are splitting, and doors are not sealing properly. We reported these issues almost a year ago, and we are still dealing with inadequate fixes. You cannot just put a piece of trim or caulking to hide the poor workmanship. The project managers seem to have little accountability, which is evident in the subpar workmanship of the homes.

Many of these issues were brought to the attention of the project manager even before closing, and nothing has been addressed. Here we are, almost a year later, still waiting for a resolution. ComplaintsBoard.com has been notified of these ongoing issues.
