Select Home Warranty review: A/C repair when authorization desk did not respond to call, and we had to pay the technicain.

A claim was submitted on Sept 5, 2026 for our A/C not working. SHW assigned a contractor that could not be available until the morning of the 9th of Sept. My wife is a diabetic and has dementia and does not tolerate high temperatures. Texas temperature that day approached 100 degrees F. I called the claims desk to get an authorization to repair the the A/C via a technician I located that could do it late on Sept 5th. Called to get authorization that the Technician had to be there first. Called back when the technician arrived, transferred to the authorization desk and they were never heard from. Used the # key as they requested and never got a return call. The technician replaced the start/run capactiror and I paid the invoice. Called the claim desk, they wanted a copy of invoice which I faxed them. They said they would respond within 24 hours, nothing so I called them, customer service said that because the authorized was not approved (they were not available), I would only receive a partial payment.
