I was ripped off also! I participated in the $5 Coffee deal and I was charged $25. I called to cancel the order the NEXT day and I was told that the order was ALREADY shipped and I would have to put "Return to Sender" on the box when it arrives; after this I would receive a credit. I called numerous times spoke to numerous ppl, some said they received and others said they didn't. I was charged ANOTHER $39.70 after I returned the coffee! I called to dispute this with a "Supervisor" and she told me it was part of the "contract". I NEVER signed a contract and the website NEVER said that you would be billed anything extra. In any event, I canceled the order in the same week! After arguing, they decided to give me a refund for the $64.70. Everytime I called they said its being refunded within the week. This happened back in September of 2009 and I'm STILL waiting for a refund! Now the phone numbers I had for them have been disconnected. I canceled my card, but I'm having a hard time getting my money back with my bank because its been over 90 days. This is WRONG on so many levels! I can't believe I fell victim to a SCAM!

I was in a similar situation - ended up changing my bank card - when you do that, they will not be able to charge you any more - this is the only way to stop them from STEALING money from people. I have tried to dispute the charges with my bank to no avail. There should also be a way of reporting them and having the law authorities to take care of people like this.

Same thing happened to us until we submited a complain to the BBB and told our bank.
Everyone, please close or switch your check or cc accounts as soon as problem's solved cause they tend to charge you again unexpectedly!

I also have been dealing with this company for almost a year now with charges to my account of well over $350.00, I immediately sent back all of the coffee that i hadn't opened and called to tell them that it was in the mail and i wanted to cancel all other shipments and receive a refund for a the coffee that was returned. I got the same response of it taking 10-14 business days to receive and process the returned coffee but that i would receive my money back. I continued to call every 2 weeks to find out the status of my refund and never could talk to anyone. I left messages and never got a call back and then just recently the number that i had been calling was disconnected. I am so glad that i found this web site and am not alone in this. I fully intend to get ahold of my lawyer and get this crap straightened out. I also agree with a previous comment that i read that this company should be shut down and that i will probably never purchase anything online again.

The reason calls won't go thru is because the numbers are either disconnected or give some stupid message about leaving your information and they will send your refund. It doesn't work. I've tried it several times and finally filed a complaint with the BBB. When the BBB responded to me, they were unable to contact anyone from the company, so I'm just considering my $38 a lesson to check any future companies out on the BBB before ordering.

I did finally get my money back after filing a complaint at the IC3 website as well as the BBB. The BBB contacted Seattle Coffee Direct and had my refund for me in less than a week!

I was also ripped off for a totalof 219.75. Always saying we will refund with no results. I did not ask for all this coffee every two days. I only want to packages and cups. I have sent it all back. No coffee and no money. I want to go to the prosecuting attorney for the state they deal in. What crooks.

they are STILL ripping people off-I returned product in Jan 2010 and they still dont answer the phone or credit back the money-even though they have had the product returned! No one seems to know where these people are or who they are or where to find them to stop them! SOMEONE has to know SOMETHING!

I got 2bags of coffee for2.99 and wound up being charged79.00-twice!I got cancellation e-mail oct 26 2009 with a promise of a refund (I returned the coffee) within 30 days it is now Feb. 27 with countless promises of refund soon, now the tel # just stays busy their website is gone. this is blatant theft, What do you do?

I also ordered coffee from Seattle coffee direct in Nov 08 and promptly cancelled the membership, a year later 11/27/08 I received unsolicited box of coffee and my bank account was charged $79.00, I called the company and after several tries finely got a hold of someone who sent me an e-mail stating, that a refund would be back in my account within 1-2 business cycles. it has been 3 business cycles and no refund. I called the number listed in the e-mail (1-888-cafe) and apparently the number has been disconnected. I have since talked to FTC, Montana's General Attorneys office, and will be reporting it to Better business bureau. Has anyone here gotten any response from this company?

I am still waiting for a refund from this company, I called today and due to network problems I cannot even get through to a representative! Really! Last time I spoke with someone the rep told me good luck getting a refund they still have people from last year who have not been credited yet. She said to try my credit card company to reverse the charges that may be the only way to get a refund!

I was scammed and still have not received my refund of $79.00 that Seattle Direct took from my account three months after my subscription was cancelled and it is going on 4 months since I was told it was a computer error and I would be refunded my money..Now I keep being told I will get my money if not refunded to my account then by paper check...this is a lie it has been over the 7 days it has been three weeks since that promise...I want my money..If I don't get it I will take out an add against this business and notify the media of what a scam this company is I am sure there are others out there that need protection again this company and ones like it.

I can not believe this company is still in business. I have 5 charges of $38.95 each that I have been trying to get credit for. This has been going on for 7 months now. And now the credit card company says they cant help. I am at wits end.

We had the same scenario, and apparently, their website now redirects you to: http://www.peel.com/refund.php?ecom=coffee

It is a form that is supposedly if you want to request a refund...states:

"If you would like to request a refund, please fill out the form below and it will be reviewed in the order it is received. "

Wow! I'm not sure I want to fill that out, as they may do more harm to me!

I've lost about $160, and we too were too late in filing a credit card complaint. We're out the money. Hosed!

Class Action...let's go!

This company should be closed down, fined and made to repay double the amount to all of the people that they illegally charged their cards like myself. I have been trying to get my 79.00 back since November, the last contact I had with them I was told they would send me a check because they were having problems crediting people's cards. so the old addage "checks in the mail" comes into play. I have yet to receive my check!

I have been trying and the phones have been with just a message and disconnects. I am trying to dispute charges with credit card company. If you go to their website, they are basically shut down. All you can do is submit this form and when you do, it tells you it will be like 30-45 days for refund. well my credit card was cancelled so I want to know how to get my refund..

this is fraud and I would like My money back...I was promised by the

My Bank Debit card was hit several times in the amount of $234.77 in charges
and they we're only given permission to bill me for $2.20 to try a sample of there
coffee-which I never received...I am a Disabled War Vet who served 14 years for
my country and I can't afford to throw money away! I was told I would be paid
back no later than Nov. 08, 2009...and my bank checked thru Christmas and I
still have not been paid back, I have received NO COFFEE and I want to let you all
know...I have bank statements to prove It. I am very upset and would like names
and addresses of those at fault if I don't get my money back!

I received 5 packets of coffee, noticed several unauthorized charges to my account, and called to find out that I had an account, due to a special that was to cost only $5.oo. I cancelled and was told that once the packets were returned the account would be credit for all packets returned...

I am a senior with a limited income, all my expenses are planned. When $200.00 is deducted unexpectedly, I have to decide what not to pay or what not to eat. The Euro Coffee Direct web site now lists a new name for the company however they are no longer accepting orders.

I contacted the Attorney General's office for my state and they recommended that I file a dispute with my bank and file a complaint with the Attorney General's office in Illinois. Here is the location information I have gathered.

I also was scamed by this company. I have contacted them atleast 4 seperate times and was told each time I would receive my refund in they next billing cycle. Now when I try and call all I get is a rec0rding that eventually askes me to leave a message and they will get back to me. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and will be looking into filling a complaint with my state for scams

I was overcharged as well, twice. I have called every month since Oct 2009, and everytime I'm told they will refund my money, the refund is being processed and even early this month I was told the refund check was in the mail and that I should get it in about three days. It's been eight and no check yet. To my surprise when I go to check the website for the number I find it is no long available. If anyone has been able to get through, please post it here. I don't know what else to do at this point.

Call your bank/credit card company. They should be able to reverse the charges. Just tell them this story and you should have your CC refunded in about 30 days.

I did the same thing. I was on Facebook back in August 2009 and saw the wonderful deal for 4 things...2 coffee cups and 2 bags of coffee. I received the package and was only charged $12. Well, after that, I checked my account on my debit card. Thankfully I did this and found that they charged me twice on the same day for the "membership" fee and 2 pouches of coffee. It was a total of like $79.40. Well, I am a student and couldnt really afford it. So, what did I do? I called and cancelled my order and my account. The customer service rep was nice. He said that it was no problem. He would send me a confirmation email but how did I hear about the company? Did I realize that there was a membership fee of 2 coffee shipments a month. I said no and that I wanted to be refunded. He told me that it would be about 3 billing cycles to get the money back in my account. I only had to reject the shipment from UPS when it got off the truck. I did that. I know the UPS delivery man in my area and he sent the packages back for me. Well, I called a few times and actually spoke with someone. Everyone said something different, but I thought everything was legit. I know they got their coffee, I want my MONEY! Anyways, I also called and kept getting a recording. I left several messages and so did my husband! Finally, I checked the website, sent the email and got a response...this is what they said (copied and pasted) :

Thank you for your email regarding your refund. A representative will review your request and a check will be sent to you shortly for the amount in full. Please allow 7-10 days for delivery.

Thank you for your email. We look forward to satisfying your request.

It also said that it was an "Out of the Office-Auto Reply"... So, then I went to Peel Management and all of these scam things came up. I also had an incident the middle of November from someone that said they were from CashNet USA and that I had taken a loan out. They said that they had all my info and that I was being sued for all kinds of things. I knew that was a scam as soon as they said that the cops were on the way to my door to arrest me. I am a law student and know that you can't make an arrest on a civil case and I never committed any crimes or apply for a loan. I wonder if they are connected. The only difference is the other scammers sounded like they were in one room and all sounded as if they had heavy accents but were named very "American names" like John Williams and Officer Walters. Anyways, People on Facebook: Please do not get caught up in this scam. I still want my money from Seattle Coffee Direct, WorldBean Cafe or Peel...whatever name you are going under now. I have different names on each thing! Anyways, please we all have to report this and keep ourselves safe from thieves and scammers!

I had all of the above happen to me.They owe me $155.80. I was told on 8/24/09 that it would take 30-60 days to process all credits. After never getting that credit, I called again on 11/2/09 and was told it would be another 10-14 days. At that point I had had enough.

At the end of December I called my credit card to dispute the charges, something I had never had to do before but have now learned a valuable lesson about! I just got a letter today after providing them with lots of info, including Proof of Delivery for the coffee shipments I returned, that since I didn't start the dispute 60 days from the first charge. I'm sure that's what Seattle Direct/World Bean Cafe had in mind the whole time.

So I'm on Mafia Wars, through Facebook and to get rewards points I sign up for the no risk 5 for 5 'special'. Yep, it's 5 for $ 5.00 each for a total charge of $ 25.00. My fault for not reading the fine print. But I call and cancel the same day I get the $ 25.00 charge. 2 days later for 39.70 I get sent 2 paks of coffee. I call them and tell them I cancelled so they tell me they will issue a refund. 10 days later ANOTHER 39.70 package arrives. I sent them both back via UPS and call to request 2 refunds now. NO ACTION TAKEN. I then get a $ 79.00 dollar charge, that is when I cancelled my card, filed fraud charges with Wells Fargo and called again to complain, this time is was only a recording, BAD NEWS with these guys... I have had contact with Jeff Berman, his direct e-mail is: jberman@seattlecoffeedirect.com but apparently they've gone back under the rug. A visit to their website, www.seattlecoffeedirect.com now says, "www.seattlecoffeedirect.com is no longer accepting orders at this time and is no longer maintaining customer service via phone. I am filing fraudulent charges with my financial institution now. I have had it. No one has answered my calls, returned my calls and I work for the Department of Justice.
So the fraud department will deal with this.

Fed up with scams ! My Credit card is fixed so that if you try to charge me, they will nail your ###!

I as well orderd coffee from this "company." After cancelling over a year ago I saw two $79.00 charges to my account. I gave this company 1 month to refund my money. I called everyother day for a month and just talked to rude employees every time. I decided to call my bank asap to get this taken care of. Luckly enough for me it was taken care of in two days. however it seems that this company maybe going under, people might not be so lucky. Stop calling their numbers, and call your bank. I am afraid that if people wait to long this company will no longer be open, and they have then taken all of your money. All in all, do NOT go ad's like this on facebook. I was dumb enough to fall for it.

I ordered from seattlecoffeedirect and recieved multiple shipments totaling$272.65 I have called repeatedly and have been given dates as to when the monies will be deposited, then that date would pass and I would call again and again, I just got off the phone1/6/2010, Again they tell me it will be depsited in a few days or it will come in the form of a check! I am Trying to get through to the BBB right now

i fell for the okeydoke also their online offer for two bags of tea 2.00 trial two mugs then was charged twice more with two other purchases i never authourized 76.00 worth of nothing still have not recieved refund sent product back and have been getting the run around since oct 2009 they really should not be allowed to getaway with scamming people especially disabled individuals who are on fixed incomes such as myself i need my money and i will not stop calling them until i get my refunds plus the the overdrafts i was charged 35.00 twice that was another 70.00dollars i never got back im going to call the bbb in my state to let them know about the crimes being committed on the internet by these people.it is now january 5th 2010 have not recieved my refund or a callback from these people. called them today put on hold then hungup on by them i will never buy anything from them again and i will tell all my family and friends not to buy from them online or off i am truly upset that this has been going on for quite sometime and nothings being done to stop these online theives. pissed off in maryland.

I encourage everyone to complain to the Better Business Bureau and anyone else you can think of against these weasels! Also, if they have billed your credit card a significant amount, by all means, file suit against them. That's what I'm doing after being billed $277.00 that I didn't authorize! We have to stop these scam artists!

I cancelled all future shipments in August. On my December credit card statement it showed where they hit my card for $79.00 twice in November and I never received anything from them nor did I order anything from them. I disputed this with my credit card company and have tried several times to call Seattle Coffee Direct to see why they charged my card but of course, I can't get anybody to answer the phone.

I was charged 78.00 dollars on 27 nov.09 and dec.4 09 and didnt even order nothing for a total of 158.00.when I finaly talk to a rep.at [protected] he told me basicly it was a scam and would never see my money, how in hell do people get away with this #hit.would someone please help me nail these sorry s.o.b.s, i want my money back and those @ssholes in jail.
