I am writing regarding the cancellation of my orthopedic surgery that was scheduled for 3/18/2026 with Dr. Bremner. I was informed this decision was made due to a history of traumatic brain injury over 25 years ago.
I respectfully but firmly request prompt medical clearance so that my surgery can be rescheduled without further delay. This condition is remote, stable, and has not caused any recent or ongoing neurological issues that would reasonably contraindicate proceeding with surgery.
Additionally, I previously underwent a hip arthroscopy at an Encinitas surgery center in 2024 without any complications, including with anesthesia. This further supports that my past medical history has not posed a barrier to safely undergoing surgical procedures.
I want to clearly state that I understand the potential risks associated with my medical history and fully consent to proceed with surgery. I am willing to sign any additional informed consent documentation acknowledging these risks.
Given the circumstances, I believe the cancellation may have been overly cautious, and I am requesting an expedited evaluation or documentation confirming that there are no current contraindications to surgery. If a brief neurological assessment or formal note is required to satisfy surgical or anesthesia requirements, I am prepared to complete this immediately.
Please prioritize this request so my procedure can be rescheduled as soon as possible. I appreciate your prompt attention and cooperation.
Sincerely,
Courtney Kelly Herman
