Rugs Direct Area rugs

Ordered 4 identical area rugs in 2 different sizes for major remodel. One rug is the wrong one & not what was ordered. Because of construction delays, rugs were not opened immediately. As soon as we opened the packages, we saw one was a different rug. Took pictures of rugs, packaging & labels. Immediately called Rugs Direct. We were told that we only had 14 days to notify them of an issue. They said we could reorder the rug and they would give us 15% off. Now we are stuck with a rug we can’t use & are short one we need. Done with Rugs Direct. Beware-Avoid this company!

Desired outcome: Simply want what we ordered and paid for.

Rugs Direct return policy

I was clear return shipping would be on me so prior to ordering I *asked* what would it cost to return within the ‘trial' period and was told probably over $100, but she was unable to give a quote, even though that calculator is online for UPS and Fedex and USPS (which I didn't realize at the time). Given she said $100 I thought maybe up to $200 worst case, so I ordered it. After receipt of the rug I thought I should have ordered the larger one. I called to inquire about a return. She told me I would need to make arrangements with a local carrier and get a quote. I learned Shipping will cost me $700! More than I pd for the rug! Obviously that should have been quoted upfront, especially given the advertisement for ‘30 day trial' which is nothing more than a 30 day return at the buyers expense, but they won't tell you what the cost (at least ballpark) would be because no one would buy them!

Rugs Direct Wrong rug

I had a terrible experience with Rugs Direct and will never buy from them again! I have purchased a rug from www.rugs-direct.com and paid extra money for fast delivery and when I received my rug it was incorrect. I contacted customer service and they said they'll send me a replacement after I return the wrong one. I had to pay for the return shipping and later another delivery fee to get the correct rug! Because of their mistake I wasted a lot of money and shipping! Terrible!

After my experience with Rugs Direct, i would never, ever order from them again. It was difficult getting information on how to return an unwanted rug. It took 4 attempts. When I finally received the information, i was informed that I would have to pay shipping costs to return the unwanted item. The first person I spoke to in the customer service department was difficult at best. Didn’t provide the information requested.

Rugs Direct Damaged rug made to pay shipping

After purchasing a rug which company advertised as available for discount was charged whole price and told discount wasn't for this rug. It came and was severly damaged I took pictures and contacted them.they told me that carpet was checked prior to bring sent out, yet damage was so bad that I wanted to make sure that it wasn't resold. I purchased from company in New Jersey but because of damaged had to ship it to Texas. Yet when I called company they said that they saw no damage. I than resent images which showed holes and ripped yan from areas and damaged outside packaging and black stains on carpet. They have a Rugs Direct in town near me and could easily have dropped off at the local store or one in New Jersey. I asked thr company to photograph the rug I returned abd send me images. I had taken a larfe piece of plastic a d attached to back of carpet with my address, along with images and serial number of rug which clearly would identify exact rug. They said that rug was being resold as they saw no damage. Their is no way that the huge piece of plastic attached to back of rug and severe damage that it could be resold.
I had to pay over $150 to have rug shipped to Texas. They would not pay me back.
If they didn't inspect my rug I sent back, you know they didn't check rugs prior to being sent out. Sadly someone else will complain about this rug and end up in the same situation. I will submit photos as needed.
