Roommate Express
www.roommateexpress.com

I used Roommate Express and didn't find it helpful, but what really got me, is they put a recurring charge on my credit card. When I called to notify them, there was no one to resolve my issue over the phone and it took 4 days for an email response. One of the men I talked to, Dennis, was downright abusive and said the charge must be my fault. I'm sure someone there could check whether I used the site or not. If I signed up for a recurring charge, it was not my intention. At this point, they have denied me a credit, but my credit card company or the Better Business Bureau may be able to help me. I've asked for a credit and a written apology. And, cancelled my card.

This company is a total scam. I signed up to help my son find a room mate in Las Vegas and one of the reasons I fell for this company is that they were reachable by phone. Well forget that once they have your $49. When I first signed up they said they would be sending many matches and sang a song of how great they were. They actually sent me three (3) matches right at first (to fulfill their obligation) and none of the matches were even close. No background checks as promised. I have had the service for over two months now and not a peep out of them. He does not return calls but once I did find his private number on my phone and reached him. You should have heard the excuses as to why there were no matches. "wrong time of year" " nobody looking for a roommate in that area" " your paramaters are wrong" and so on. Actually my son was looking for some one to share an absolutely beautiful 5 bedroom home in a gated community with 3 car garage and pool and hot tub, the works for only $500/month and a great location right off the expressway. It doesn't get any better than that. This guy, roommateexpress.com, is a total scam and should be avoided at all costs.

No, I have not been refunded and it's been almost a month now. Well, it seems this site RoommateExpress will not respond to the BBB or Wells Fargo bank when they call. they must have some numbers blocked. When I called an complained that my account was charged a second unauthorized charge, the owner told me to call my bank. No legitimate business would tell you to contact your bank? Did he say that because he knew my bank would reimburse me for unauthorized charges? The owner got personal with me when I complained and tried to put it back on me by saying I was wasting my time and he bet I wasn't working and he wanted to talk to my boss to tell him I was wasting my time. So I let him talk to my boss and my boss, who happens to also be a Superior Court judge, told him off. Where did he think I got the money that he stole from me? Yes, I work. I would suggest that the owner of this fraudulent site get a real job, not scam people right and left. Of course they will not answer my calls. DO NOT USE THIS SITE. Jane from Phoenix

I agreed to let Roommateexpress debit my credit card one time in early spring of 2010 for $49. The site was not helpful at all. That being said, 8/12/10 my credit card was debited again for $49 despite being reassured this would not happen when I originally gave them my credit card number of the phone. They assured me it would be a one time charge. I called on Friday and he told me it would be back in my account by 5:00. Guess what? not so. So I am going to contact every agency I can think of to get this resolved. Jane in Phoenix. PS I will write again if I get a refund.

We are a nationwide roommate matching service that was started in 1989. We match 100's of people a based on a 10 point system. The service matches people that have a room with people looking for a place. We can only provide what the consumer wants. If the rent is to hign, the place is to far and the landlord is looking for a very narrow profile, this makes it harder to find the right people. We have an 80% success rate over the last 20 years. We have 1000's of happy people. Some people no matter what you can never please.

I was very hopeful when i read their ad, that this place could help me rent my rooms in St. Petersburg, Fl. I paid the $39.95. The first day there were to females leads that were out of the country, and their E-Maill Address was well you know seemed to me like hookers. After that, Not one lead.! Not one lead!

Yes, Not one lead!. For three months, yes you guessed it, Not one lead for St. Pete, Fl. Oh, I was going to get phone calls from prospective Tenants in a couple of days. I called Dan several times, and he said he would look into it directly. Not one lead! I going to check my bank statement when it comes in, directly.

I had a similar problem with Roommateexpress.com which they will not resolve. I have called them and sent emails to them about my problem - all of the calls and emails were never returned.

I am in the process of disputing the charge and working with the local BBB service to file a complaint.

Please do not use them. They just want you money.

I was looking for a roommate and wanted someone professional with references. As roommateexpress advertises itself, they perform personality match etc. I paid $39, they created my "profile", I was promised that I will receive matches and that interested parties will call me. Within the first 3 days I received 5 matches: 1 phone number was invalid, 2 were inactive members and the other 2 registered for that service several months ago and because they received no responses almost forgot about it and obviously were not serious candidates. Nobody called me.. and that was it! For the next week and a half nothing happen... I left several messages to customer service, no one returned my phone call... The bottom line I am highly disappointed and WOULD NOT RECOMMEND it!

I just received a charge to my credit card and was given an email address that came back as undeliverable. I was told that there was no way to resolve it over the phone when I called. I am very displeased.
