resolved to the customer's satisfaction
We were charged 9.99 on our alltel bill for ringaza alerts. We did not order this service, the phone that the ringtone is said to be on cant even get ringtones. I called the company to get a refund and they would not comply. Alltel says they cannot refund me because this is a third party fee. I just received my bill yesterday and i was again charged the 9.99 fee even though i called to have this service removed 3 times. This is soo aggravating and i don't know what to do to be able to insure i will not get charged again. I have turned this company in to the better business bureau and have received a response from the company, but basically saying that there is no way that a customer could be charged for something they did not order. But i did not order this service and i did not receive the service they are saying i ordered. In spite of everything, i still have no ringtones to show for the 9.99 i have to pay, twice.
My advice in this case of this rip off scamming company is to turn it in to the better business bureau. That is the only way for anything to happen to companies like this. Otherwise they will continue to rip people off forever.

I was subcribed to something without my knowlegde and how is that possible? When someone subcribes to something dont they have to sign up or call in electronically do something? How can they do this? My cel phone bill was disrupted by the ignorance of a fowl company and they should no longer be here! Whowill pay for this and y is this happening? I dont understand this is a scam and a bad one!!! I am appalled by this and the better business bureau need to know this or some place for the flaws of this unproductive company thank you and have a nice day.

Unfortunately, their "service rep" employees are apparently in India or another country where they are undoubtedly paid almost nothing... so you aren't even getting revenge on the miserable Ringaza people when you use up employee time. Hideous ripoff company!!!

I argued with these people for 45 minutes and went through 2 people to get my $19.98 back from them. Which of course I knew they weren't going to give it back because a company that makes money scamming people wont make any money unless they are scamming people.
So I found my own way of getting back at them. I figure that if one of the 2 employees that I was talking to was a supervisor then he probably makes around $16 and hour working at a call center. The other person below him probably makes aroun $9 an hour. So I wasted 45 minutes on the phone with them arguing. So the company wasted $12 paying that supervisor and $6.75 paying the regular employee for a grand total of $18.75 that I forced the company to pay to its employees in wasted time. :)
I encourage everyone to waste as much time on the phone with them as you can (providing this is time that you wouldnt be spending doing something more productive) It's fun. Plus if you can really upset one of the employees and make them cry and get them to quit their job then you should pat yourself on the back because you just wasted a bunch of company money on resources. They would have to replace the employee "time spent" ad's, paper work, insurance, man power... This stuff adds up.
Have fun wasting their time :)

This kind of ripoff and deceit should not be tolerated anymore and those scam companies should be punished severely. I think our cell phone companies should take partial responsibility as well. I feel so unsecured and have no confidence in any mobile phone company now. Fxxx!
I just checked my AT&T account after getting a text message. Found that charges have been placed on my account since January. There was also another charge of $9.99 from another scam artist bringing my monthy charge to $19.98. Customer service said they are not permitted by the FTC to dispute charges by third parties due to regulations on restraint of trade but have to wait for customers to object. They were able to put the last six months of the charges in dispute and credit my account after 30 days. The months prior to this was credited back by AT&T. Asked why they can't simply notify customers when new charges to an account are made by third parties and ask for validation. It would be a simple programming operation for billing. She recorded my comment and said it would be passed on to the tech department. I commend AT&T cuustomer service for this quick action.
I agree. I am being ripped off and I want it taken off my acct. These people need to be put in jail! I feel like I am going in circles and don't know how to get out. We have Verizon bill automatically deducted form our bank acct.
Omg... Thanks you very much. This stupid crap cause my phone bill to rise soo much it drove me crazy. For 5 months my phone billwas like more than 60 bucks cuz the crap kept sending me the thing for no reason
Ringaza is sending me text messages that I'm being charged for, not to mention I'm being charged for ringtones I never puarsched ! I'm being charged 9.99 a Month, for something I never agreed to nor did I get !!!
These idiots call me day and into the night as late as 2 a.m. with nonsensical messages. I did NOT ask for these and it irritates me to think they can call like this any time they please, but they have only a five number ID so you can't get them.
I called Verizon and they were more than happy to credit my account for these charges from this scam operation. They also told me how to unsubscribe, (reply to their text with these five words "cancel, end, quit, stop, unsubscribe") about a minute later I received a text stating I was unsubscribed. I also had premium services blocked on all three phones.
Apparently someone did have to order a ringtone or at least look on the web. They text you and you have to text them back in order to opt out. It's a pretty good scam. Most people will treat texts like email, if you don't know the person it is spam and you will not reply. With these guys if you don't reply you have opted in and accepted the charges.
One last note. don't bother with the BBB. It is the most over rated agency in the world wielding little if any power. If you cannot get things straightened out with your carrier simply refuse to pay and file a complaint with you city manager, state attorney and write your congressman/senator. Pay the rest of your bill, just not the 757-14 part and be sure to let your carrier know that by charging you for something you did not subscribe to THEY are in violation of the contract.
I just began receiving these text messages from the 757-14 phone number. I plan on walking into the Verizon office tomorrow and informing them, in person, there is no way I will pay any charges for this number. If the cannot remove any charges incurred from them I will drop Verizon in a heartbeat. I will also let them know that I will walk down the street to my Senators office and file a federal complaint against both Verizon and these Ringaza ripoffs. Iguarantee they will never get 1 cent of mine.
Yep, I was an idiot. answered these IQ questions (ironic, no?) and viola- text messages about celebrity garbage started appearing on my cell phone. I took the advice of a fellow blogger and replied with the test, STOP. I immediatley recived a message that i was unsubscurbed from this service. I ssure hope tht's the end of it. I am mad as hell.
Received my cellphone bill today with over $21 in "premium" text message charges that turned out to be Ringaza. They got my cell number from completing an "IQ" test off of Facebook. Guess who's the idiot. At no time did this company say they were going to charge premium text services.
BEWARE OF RINGAZA AND OTHER ADVERTISERS ON FACEBOOK!!!
Company: Ringaza or 75714. Company phone# [protected]
I feel like I need to report them to the BBB and also report them to the Internet Fraud Task Team. This company lures unsuspecting people into signing up for premium text messages by using lies in advertisements on facebook. I was charged $9.99 (so far). As soon as I realized what I had done, I quit the subscription, however I am still receiving messages. I called my phone company and put on a “premium” text message block (everyone should do this). This company needs to be closed down and charges should be brought against them in a court of law.
Will I recieve reimbursement for the charges on my phone?
I just unsubscribed to 3 messages from 75714 that I did not authorize. Hopefully that will put an end to the unauthorized text messages.
Anybody who is getting messages on there cell phones, send STOP to 757-14, you should get a message almost instantly back saying that you have been unsubscribed.
Text messages started appearing on my phone and I started to just erase them and then I replied to not send them again and I was charged $9.99 for two different messages, I then realized I had to call these rip off artists to discontinue something I didn't start. I didn't know I was being charged $20 until I got my bill. What a bunch of crooks!
How do you stop it???
I did not ask for this at all!!!
How can i get them to stop??????
Did not ask for this at all!!!
Register with the national do-not-call list https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx . It takes less than 2 minutes and requires only your phone number and an e-mail address. The e-mail is only used for verification.
If ringaza continues to send you messages, then register a complaint on the same web site (I just sent my complaint). The do-not-call list is serious business and violation can result in big fines. I have been on the list for 4 years now, and have only received 2 or 3 calls from telemarketers. Companies you do business with are still allowed to contact you.
(As a side note, there is also an OPT-OUT list that prevents companies from sending you pre-approved offers of credit. Check the back of the next piece of junk credit card mail to get the phone number to call. It's slightly more work than the do-not-call list, but well worth it.)
I also found this site about a class-action lawsuit. http://classactionconnect.com/cell_phone_issues/2007/09/04/ringaza-75714/
I have NO IDEA how credible this lawsuit is, so beware.

Unsolicited Text messages started to arrive on my cell phone. I tried calling a number to get these stopped, but RingAZA 's message said they had to be stopped on line. After many frustrating times trying to get into their website (which almost never seems to be available), I finally managed to get into the site. I typed in the word "STOP" which is supposed to stop the texts. Several days later, I get a text message thanking me for renewing my subscription - which, at least to my mind, is the opposite of "STOP".
Any suggestions as to what to do ??

Well, I did text STOP to 757-14, though 2 hours later I got another random text message from them. Hopefully I will not be billed in the future.

To those who claim you have to know what you're doing to sign up: it's not true! I have received several unsolicited text messages from this company. They have not charged me 9.99 yet but they are using up my text messages. If i were to accidentally respond I would likely be charged. companies like this one should be illegal because they only feed off people who might not know any better. Clearly they have no legitimate customer base.

I was hit with the unauthorized 9.99 charge also. This is what you must do.
First, cancel the subscription using your phone that is recieving the messages. Send the keyword STOP to 75714 and then follow the instructions for unsubscribing.
Second, call your cell phone provider and have them block PREMIUM Message Services. That is the sevice that allows a third party to bill you through your cell provider. You can still use normal text messaging.
Your cell phone provider may refund your money as a courtesy, but they are not required to do so.

did you read everyone else's complaint? I don't think you want ANYTHING complimentary from this compnay. Simply subscribing will get you 10 dollars a month in charges you didn't ask for.
