We had a verbal hold on a new puppy. We worked with the rescue's foster mother from June 12 until July 17 when we were informed that they were going to adopt the puppy out to a local family instead of us. We had been making arrangements for weeks. We received updates on surgeries, we received medical records and pictures... We paid for boarding, training...

Unleashed Pet Rescue has made a living out of getting ahold of any lost pets they can find and adopting them out without ever trying to find the owner first. According to Kansas law, they are required to perform "due diligence" in finding the owner during the 3-day stray hold period. I know of three different individuals who have had to go to the Mission...
