Poulsbo RV Broken promises & poor service

We purchased a 2003 5th wheel in Sept 2013 at the Auburn store. Our saleswoman was nice and helpful, so was the service tech that walked us through our delivery detail. The store manager made several promises that fell a long way short of good service and customer satisfaction. We were promised a 5th wheel hitch installation as part of our trailer purchase. Well... We did get a hitch... A low cost, entry level hitch that really shouldn't have been installed in a short box Ford 350 trying to pull a 37' ft fifth wheel. A "slider hitch" should have been installed to assist in cornering and backing this trailer up. When I asked about this at delivery I was told it was "no big deal" and there was plenty of clearance. This just isn't true! I've had at least 4 other RV shops tell me it's the wrong hitch for the size trailer and truck I have and it's VERY limited on cornering and unable to back into even a slightly tight spot.

I trusted their input at Poulsbro and their expertise. Big mistake! In addition, the awning on the trailer had several tears and holes in it. The manager agreed to replace it before delivery. Upon delivery day it was only taped up and I was told that this was customary when fixing an awning. They told be the tape would last for years. I asked why it wasn't replaced and was told that the manager wouldn't authorize it. We had driven over 200 miles to pick up the trailer and spent the night in a hotel and all the next day on the delivery. I didn't feel like arguing with them but felt taken advantage of and lied too.

Basically, it feels like this manager would tell us anything to get the sale and then once your name is on the dotted line... All bets are off. It's been 3 weeks now since the delivery and there was never a follow up customer satisfaction call or any further communication from anyone. I even had to follow up with them about the licensing delays and paperwork. They promised to call me back on it and nothing happened.

By the way.. We took the trailer out this weekend. The first time I rolled out the awning it ripped and the tape peeled of in the rain. This was the repair job they did in lieu of replacement that was supposed to last "for years"!

My thoughts are... I will never buy from an out of state dealer again, I won't deal with Poulsbro, and I won't be foolish enough to take the word of a dealership again assuming because they are professionals they will do the right thing for their customers.

Buyer beware of Poulsbro RV in Auburn, WA.

My husband & I stopped into a Poulsbo RV Dealership to look at class C units. The salesman that came out just happened to be the owner's son.
He was very rude and very pushy. I specifically told him we were only interested in Class C models. He showed us several but because my husband is a stroke victim, we need a certain layout. Eventually he came up with a model that was perfect for us so we went inside to the finance office and drew up the contract fro that unit. That afternoon, the finance adviser sent me a message saying she had good news for us and some options. When she said that, i called her immediately and asked her if the options she spoke of referred to the unit we had picked out and she said that it was. I asked her that question because I told her if it wasn't for the unit we had drawn up paperwork for that we weren't going to make the 20 mile trip back down to the dealership. When we got there, the same pushy little salesman was already in her office ready to dump a big 40 ft Class A motor home on us. When he told me it was a class A, I told him we were not interested but he kept pressuring me to go out and look at it and the woman in finance kept saying how she had one and liked it better than the class C. The salesman also asked my husband if he wanted to go look at it. My husband answers Yes to almost anything and is not able to make decisions. Anyway, after immense pressure from the salesman and my husband, I reluctantly went out to look at the class A and when I saw it, again I told him I didn't want to look at it because it was too big for me to drive but once again he pressured me to just look inside and again asked my husband if he like it. Once we got inside, I told him it was a very nice motor home but it was too big for me to drive and maintain alone so once again I told him NO! Finally he left the coach and we got out and I was trying to get out of there to our car but my husband is like a kid in a candy store when it comes to looking at RVs and when I tried to get him to leave, he kept pulling away from me and if I try to pull him my direction, he raises his arm to hit me. As we were looking around at other Class Cs we hadn't been shown, a second salesman comes out, gets in the Class A, starts it up and backs it out and turns it around, then he comes over to me and introduces himself and tells me if I don't want to take it out for a test drive to just say No and go get in my car and leave but he very next thing that comes out of his mouth is " I could get fired for telling you that because the first salesman is the owner's son, so not wanting the guy to get fired, I agree to a test drive and even though he said I did well for my first time, I was terrified driving that big thing and even more so when I had to bring it home and back it into a narrow drive way. Not only was the salesman pushy from the beginning, he played me every way possible by using the fact that I told him I was a Christian. He put a cross on the wall in the unit so that it was visible as we came in the door. The second salesman played on my sympathy in not wanting him to get fired! All three persons involved kept asking my husband questions taking advantage of his stroke disability.
Unfortunately, there is more. After only being in the unit one week, we awoke to a saturated carpet and when I called the service dept about it, he said to bring it in. Well. that was kind of impossible because the batteries had been draining even though the unit had been plugged in to an approved power source the entire time. Eventually, the unit would not start so the slides and jacks wouldn't move and when I called them to tell them they needed to send someone to tow it to the dealership, they said they couldn't do that. My brother had asked numerous times if certain things had been checked before we bought the unit home and we were told that everything had been checked and it had been up on the rack. My brother opened the hood and all the battery cables were lose! When I called the service department he said that alone could drain the batteries. I told them that when I get it started and am able to bring it in that because I was so highly pressured into buying it that I believed they took advantage of my inability to resist the high pressure and my husband's inability to respond reliably that I wanted them to take it back! They refused but said they could put it on their consignment lot but that I would lose money. I told them I didn't care that I just wanted out! The guy at the consignment lot refused to consign it saying that the week we purchased it, the value went down and I would have to come up with thousands of out of pocket money. After 3 days of waiting for someone to come and get the unit started, they were able to start it but the slides and jacks still wouldn't operate so the repairman suggested calling the warranty company to have them send someone out to finish repairing it and said, it might even be them but when I called the warranty company and they told me to have the repairman come back and finish the repairs needed and then call them, they said that that warranty company was on their DO NOT CALL list because they don't pay them! Finally after a week, the unit is ready to return to the dealership and my daughter is dealing with them right now to see what she can do to get us out of this sale or at least get them to consign it. Will deal with private parties from now on.

We purchased a diesel coach from Poulsbo in Kent, the salesman promised us the moon to get us to buy the coach. After signing papers, we found out that the 90-day bumper to bumper warranty was much more limited than he let on to. We pushed the issue and got the repairs done. The coach has been to Poulsbo's service dept 3 times and they have caused more...
