Leisure Living Superstore Scam and cheating

I purchased Spa and Gazebo which were never delivered, appx $3500 in 2003. When I tried to get credit card credited, several times, they indicated that my AMEX would be credited but it never was. Several months later on a follow-up they indicated that the purchases were AS IS and could not be refunded, even though I never received it. I reported then to California Bureau of Consumer Protection, for which i sent them a copy, they called me immediately and apologized for not crediting card. i assumed they ten credited card but I just found this out recently when auditing my credit card balances, they still never credited.

Leisure Living Superstore Scamming customers

Public beware! Leisure Living has file chapter 11. This is posted on many websites. Also, there are multiple complaints about customers making purchases and never receiving their items. This is true. It happened to me. I bought some furniture and still waiting for my delivery. I call the store and get nowhere! I never get a honest answer and I never get a return cal. It is my opinion and others on web that there is no furniture to be sold/ delivered and they are deliberately taking out money.

Leisure Living Superstore Fraud and scam

I purchased a $2, 500 sauna from leisure living superstore on may 3, 2008. They were having (still are) a "everything must go", liquidation, and store will be closing sale. My expected delivery date is long over due and the excuses are ridiculous. We call the store and supervisors etc. daily, and still no response. We have contacted our credit card company AMEX and they are going to start a billing inquiry and investigation. Please inform the public STAT. I would have never suspected this type of fraud from what appeared to be a normal place of business. PLEASE ISSUE PUBLIC NOTICE ON LEISURE LIVING TEMECULA.

BEWARE UNSUSPECTING VICTIMS!

Thank you for the info. I just sent my hubby to go get the Gazebo that was advertised at $87.00 which supposedly had a original retail price of $799.00. After reading your comments above I immediately called him on his cell phone to stop him from buying it. We also did not realize that they have been "going out of business" for several months now.

Thanks again for the info.

Christine

I saw the close out ad in my Sunday San diego newspaper, everything must go 7-13-08. They had a Gazebo listed at $799, on sale for $83. So I drove out to San Marcos. Now I have been researching Gazebo's at different stores, & know the quality. For $799, I was expecting something terrific! They had a slightly different gazebo, with the same $799 price tag on sale for $252 (other stores like Home depot have this flimsy model for $99). I began to tell all of the customers looking at it NOT TO BUY IT, that it was a low end quality, PLUS the store wasn't selling that model for $83. I finally talked to the manager, & explained with images from all of the other stores that I looked at, that no way this ever retailed anywhere for $799, & that this was false advertising. I proceeded to tell him I was contacting the San Diego Union to notify them of the fraud. I next began to warn the customers NOT to buy ANYTHING IN THAT STORE. I must of frightened the manager, because he came out to my car & told me that he wanted to give me a free gazebo. I thought, okay I'll take it, & opened my trunk, then he told me the gazebo was at there wherehouse, it would be in stock next week (now remember this is the LAST DAY of the store being opened according to the ad). They wrote me up an order to pick up my free gazebo in a week...the gazebo is so cheaply made, that it is probably not worth the drive back, or the time to install it...but to read that people actually bought anything from them, & that it was never delivered is criminal!

Could not agree with you more. They may be going out of business but just not fast enough for me!
Don't buy there unless you want to be miss led and ripped off.

Leisure Living Superstore Terrible company!

Leisure Living Superstore is a family business owned by Jeffrey Berry. Jeffrey employs his family in the business including his son, Jared Berry. Don't believe anything they or their employees say. They make the sale and your money and then many customers have a difficult time getting the item they purchased delivered on time, delivered at all or when an item is delivered the item is not the item purchased. Finally, in our case the item we received was broken and Leisure Living would not return it, pick it up or fix it.

There are FTC federal and state consumer laws that are suppose to protect consumers... from what I know from my Leisure Living Experience and after speaking to other Leisure Livings customers and reading posts on these sites it seems evident that the Owners of Leisure Living think they are above the law... and it seems they get away with it.

When Leisure Living delivered to us a defective product... we ask that they replace it but they left it at our home anyway. Then they demanded we pay for it. We spoke to a lawyer (incidentally the lawyer had his own Leisure Living Store - he had purchased chairs from Leisure Living and never received them). The Lawyer told us to tell Leisure Living we would not accept the product and to come back and pick it up. It didn't matter -- Leisure Living refused to fix the item, replace it and would not pick it up. We were left to pay for a broken product that is useless.

Corona Better Business Bureau has stacks of complaints against Leisure Living! Now I read Leisure Living has filed for bankruptcy. I followed a link on the Riverside Superior Court's Website and pulled up their bankruptcy filings!

Leisure Living liquidated their Store in Murrieta last fall with advertising that never identified the Store's name. Now Leisure Living is liquidating their Temecula Store with the same deceptive circulars claiming they are liquidating their inventory in three days! This 'three day sale' will probably go on for months like the Murrieta sale did.

This Company needs to be investigated by a local Television or Newspaper to put pressure on this company to make things right with their Customers!

I've purchased from poolsupplies.com in the past without any problems but this time I needed to cancel my order. I called before I received notification of shipping and after 20 minutes on hold while they check with the manager I was told they couldn't cancel the order because the items had been shipped.

Baseed on the shipping notification emails I received the next morning and the tracking information they weren't shipped until several hours after I called, in fact the shipping labels weren't printed until several hours after I called. Now if I send them back they will charge a restocking fee. They don't care about the customer only their botom line. It's a rip off and I'll never deal with this company again and will make sure everyone I can will know how they do business.

I gave a deposit but was told it would be refunded if I did fit after I measured my patio. Later that day when I called to cancel the order because it did not fit, they continued to charge my and refused to refund the money

I live in the San Diego area and just recieved the same ad. They claim that everything is at least 54-97% off but they don't say their name except for a picture of the store with a banner saying store closing across it. I am glad I read these comments before I drove to the store. Thank you!

I totally agree with this. This company is the worst. We bought and paid for a massage chair 4 months ago and they still dont deliver it.. We have called several times and each time they gives us a different story or simply dont answer the call.
